What is Coring ?

Coring is most simply expressed as:

The cutting and removal of a cylindrical
sample of
in-situ rock from the well bore.

Why Core ?

Coring provides a unique Formation Evaluation tool which is essential

for critical development decisions on the commercial viability of a
prospect reservoir

Coring provides the tool from which primary data sets can be
measured to supplement and calibrate secondary data sets derived
from other FE tools such as wireline logs

Coring provides certain unique data sets which can only be

determined from core material
