~ HUMAN-ENVIRONMENTAL

INTERACTION ~
One of the 5 themes of Geography is Human-environmental interactions
which tells us where we are in the world through understanding the
classification on how humans adapt, depend and modify the environment.

For example human-environmental is like in Yogyakarta they created

The Borobudur temple with the elements/ of nature to help them
create a temple so people would understand more about theyre
cultures and beliefs. We use 3 characteristics to help us understand
about human-environmental interactions which is how humans adapt,
depend and modify the environment. Adapting to the environment is
how humans adapt to the changes in nature to survive in this world.
For example, in Yogyakarta they adapt to the hot and rainy climate by
using rain coats and hats or umbrellas so they wouldnt get cold or
they wouldnt be to hot because of the climate in Yogyakarta. We
modify our environment in different ways to get the things we need
for our daily lives. They also cut trees or carve rocks to build houses
and temples by modifying the environment to help us humans survive
and take shelters from the natural disasters. The last characteristics is
about how humans depend on the environment to give us resources
and to help us survive but in return we need to help the environment
to survive too. Like in Jogja we depend on our environment because
we need their resources to give us food and drinks so we can create
our traditional meals like Bubur, Nasi Gudeg, tempe and etc. We give
back to them by protecting the environment like to not throw trashes
everywhere. We went to Jogja to learn how the humans depend, adapt
and modify the environment there and why did they do it for. I learned
that us humans needs the environment a lot to help us survive and
get what we need. So, we depend, adapt and modify the environment
around us.

We modify the environment

by carving symbols in the
natural resources we got from
nature which could give us

We depend on the
environment to give us
resources to create
temples like Borobudur.

One of the 5 themes of

Geography is Humanenvironmental
interactions which tells
us where we are in the
world through
understanding how
humans adapt, depend
and modify the
environment.

We observed Humanenvironmental
interaction during our
camp to Jogja. We saw
lots of different ways
people modify, depend
and adapt to theyre
environment. It helps
us give a better
perspective and
example about what
we are learning about.

1.
How do we depend
on the environment?

In Yogya we depend on
our environment
because we need their
resources to give us
food and drinks so we
can create our
traditional meals like
Bubur, Nasi Gudeg,
tempe and etc.
2.
How do we adapt
to the environment?

Adapting to the
environment is how
humans adapt to the
changes in nature to

survive in this world.

For example, in
Yogyakarta they adapt
to the hot and rainy
climate by using rain
coats and hats or
umbrellas so they
wouldnt get cold or
they wouldnt be to hot
because of the climate
in Yogyakarta.
3.
How do we modify
(change) the
environment?

We modify our
environment in
different ways to get
the things we need for
our daily lives. They
also cut trees or carve
rocks to build houses
and temples by
modifying the
environment to help us
humans survive and
take shelters from the
natural disasters.
4. How do these models
help us understand the
world
It could help us observe
the world more by using
models and when we
observe more things
about the world it will
give us more information
about where we are. If we
gather more Information
we can understand about
the world and how
geographers could
observe the world and
create the 5 themes of
geography.
