Technology Specialist
Promote and facilitate the use of technology by school personnel and students.
Provide instruction and training for administrators, teachers and other staff in the use of software
applications, hardware, Internet resources, system policies and practices, technology integration
strategies and initiatives employed by the Bibb County Public School system.
Team with faculty, staff, and administration to assist in the integration of technology into all content
standards, grade level requirements and student performance assessments.
Perform basic computer hardware, software and network troubleshooting, maintenance and simple repairs if
necessary (within the scope of and with the intent to train staff to perform these tasks for themselves). In as
much as possible these activities are limited to verifying and clarifying difficulties for reporting purposes.
Work with certified staff members a minimum of 30 minutes each week.
Serve on the School Improvement and Media Technology committees at assigned schools
Create handouts, manuals and other materials on the use and implementation of software programs,
computer hardware and technology integration strategies, as needed to support instructional goals.
Oversee the creation of student logins for applications (exporting names from SASI for student databases such
as Accelerated Reader, Spectrum, PLATO, Orchard, GOAS, etc).
