1) TIEMPOS VERBALES EN INGLS DE PRESENTE
1.1. Presente simple (Present Simple)
The main thing is that the third person singular forms end in -s or -es. That's for he,
she or it.
He watches black and white films at his cinema club on Wednesdays.
He thinks chess is a sport!
- USES PRESENT SIMPLE.

We use it for routines (e.g. things we do every day or week).


We use it for general facts (e.g. scientific facts).
We use it for talking about timetables (e.g. bus or lesson timetables).
We use it for talking about permanent states or situations.
We use it for talking about likes and dislikes.
We use it for giving opinions (e.g. with the verbs think / believe).

Lo usamos para hablar de cosas que suceden habitualmente, cosas rutinarias


o I always call my parents on Saturday.
o We always go on holiday in the summer
o I usually get up at 7 o'clock.
o During the week, I have swimming practice on Mondays; I do taekwondo on
Tuesdays and tennis on Thursdays.
Cosas que son siempre verdad (verdades absolutas o cientificas).
o The sun rises in the east
o Thailand is really hot at this time of year.
o Snakes live on the ground, in trees and in water.
Horas
o The school opens at 9:00
Estados permanentes
Los estados permanentes son situaciones o sentimientos que no son temporales.
o I like him a lot.
o Sophie works as a travel writer.
o They live in London.
Stative verbs (Like, know, love, wish, hate, want, suppose, belong, need, understand,
belong, prefer, believe) NO SE UTILIZAN EN FORMA ING.
Secuencia de acciones en presente.
o First I get up, then I have breakfast, after I go to the work.

We often use adverbs of frequency sometimes, often, usually or other time


expressions like on Mondays, twice a week or in the summer.
1.1.1 Timetable future (horario futuro)
Cuando conocemos el future se usa normalmente el present simple
We use the present simple for something scheduled or arranged:
o We have a lesson next Monday.
o The train arrives at 6.30 in the morning.
o The holidays start next week.
o It is my birthday tomorrow.

1.2. Presente continuo (Present Continuous)


We use the present continuous:

Actions happening at the moment of speaking.


o Peter is reading a book now.
To show that something in the present is temporary: (acciones temporales)
o We are living in a rented flat at present.
o My wife usually goes in to the office, but she is working at home today.
For something happening regularly in the present before and after a given time:
Para algo que sucede regularmente en la presente antes y despus de un tiempo
determinado:
o Im usually getting ready for work at eight oclock.
o When I see George hes always reading his newspaper.

For something happening before and after the moment of speaking:

o I cant hear you. Im listening to my iPod.
o Be quiet. The children are sleeping.
Trends (Tendencias)
o More and more people are using their computers to listen to music.
Repetead actions which are irritating to the speaker (with always, constantly,
forever)

For plans or arrangements: (planes de futuro)
o I am learning English by myself.
o Sarah's not going to the dance tonight.
o Im playing football tomorrow.
o They are coming to see us tomorrow.
o Were having a party at Christmas.
1.3. Condicional simple (Conditional Simple)
El equivalente al presente simple en condicional.
I would eat sushi: Comera sushi.
1.4. Condicional continuo (Conditional Continuous)
El equivalente al presente continuo en condicional.
You would be cleaning: T estaras limpiando.
2) Tiempos verbales de pasado
2.1. Presente perfecto (Present Perfect)
Para acciones que continan en el momento presente o que tienen efectos en l.
I haven't slept in the past two days.
2.2. Presente perfecto continuo (Present Perfect Continuous)
Para hablar de acciones de cierta duracin que continan en el presente o que acaban de
terminar.
I have been spending so much lately.
He has been going out with Mike for two years now.
2.3. Pasado simple (Past Simple)
Para acciones concretas (o series de acciones) que han empezado y terminado en el
pasado.
He got up and made the bed.
Tambin sirve para acciones repetidas en el pasado.
We always travelled to the mountains for vacation.
2.4. Pasado continuo (Past Continuous)
Aqu tenemos tres usos principales:

Para hablar de acciones largas interrumpidas por una corta: I was taking a
shower when Maria called.

Para hablar de acciones en un tiempo especfico del pasado. Paul was living in
Korea in 1983.

Para hablar de dos acciones que estaban ocurriendo al mismo tiempo en el


pasado: Laura was drinking tea while I was doing the dishes.

2.5. Pluscuamperfecto (Past Perfect)


Para acciones o eventos que ocurrieron antes de otra accin en el pasado.
I had seen the movie before I read the book.
2.6. Pluscuamperfecto continuo (Past Perfect Continuous)
Acciones que estaban ocurriendo en el pasado antes de otra accin tambin pasada.
I had been looking for a computer for months when I finally found the perfect one.
Tambin sirve para ilustrar causa y efecto pasados.
I was tired because I had been sleeping too little.
2.7. Condicional perfecto (Conditional Perfect)
Para describir situaciones del pasado que no ocurrieron por algn motivo.
I would have gone to the party if it hadn't been raining so much.
2.8. Condicional continuo perfecto (Conditional Continuous Perfect)
Igual que el anterior, pero para acciones que se extienden en el tiempo.
Gemma would have been playing tennis.

3) Tiempos verbales de futuro


3.1. Futuro simple (Future Simple)
Usamos will para:

Acciones voluntarias: Will you help me clean?

Promesas: I promise I will call when I arrive.

Predicciones: It will be an awesome trip.

3.2. Futuro continuo (Future Continuous)


Los mismos usos que el pasado continuo... pero en el futuro!
I will be watching the news when you arrive.
You will be living in Spain at this time next year.
3.3. Futuro going to (Future Going To)
Para hablar de planes. Tambin puede usarse para predicciones (en lugar de will).
I am going to take English lessons next month.
3.4. Futuro perfecto (Future Perfect)

Para acciones que ya habrn terminado antes de otra accin o de un momento especfico
en el futuro.
I will have finished my English course before I go on holiday.
3.5. Futuro perfecto continuo (Future Perfect Continuous)
Para mostrar que algo va a continuar hasta otra accin o tiempo en el futuro o ilustrar
causas y efectos.
Jenny will have been dating Eric for 4 years when they move together in April.
Jenny is confident about moving with Eric as they will have been dating for 4 years
