Canada Ukraine International Assistance Fund Student Exchange and Opportunity

Scholarship

Who is eligible:
Undergraduate and graduate students of Ukrainian universities/institutes and young Ukrainian
professionals (40 years or younger) attending an event or program in Canada for which they have
made prior arrangements
Undergraduate and graduate students of Ukrainian descent studying at European (EU) universities
attending an event or program in Canada for which they have made prior arrangements
Undergraduate and graduate students of Canadian universities and colleges and young professionals
(40 years or younger) attending an event or program in Ukraine for which they have made prior
arrangements
Eligible events:
Eligible events include attending conferences, workshops, seminars, courses, student exchange and
mobility programs, startup incubation programs, internships, etc.
Stay of a minimum of one week and a maximum of four months in Canada or Ukraine is required
Applicants should make their own travel and accommodation arrangements in Canada or Ukraine
Scholarship value and reimbursement:
Up to $500 CAD towards covering air travel or accommodation in Canada or Ukraine
One application per person per calendar year (up to 3 scholarships per 2016 calendar year will be
granted)
For scholarship recipients travelling to Canada the reimbursement happens during their stay in
Canada based on travel and/or accommodation receipts
For scholarship recipients travelling to Ukraine the reimbursement happens after return to Canada
based on travel and/or accommodation receipts
Please fill enclosed reimbursement form to get reimbursed (CUIA Fund preferred reimbursement
method is by cheque of a Canadian bank)
How to apply:
Fill out the online application form (that includes applicant personal information, affiliations, program to
attend, e-mails of two references, and a short motivation letter) and attach supporting documents
(invitation from a host organization or university, photocopy of Canadian or Ukrainian visa if required,
program of stay, university transcripts, resume / CV)
Should apply PRIOR to attending the event in Canada or Ukraine
All applicants will be notified by e-mail within two weeks after their application (or after submitting all
missing supporting documents) about acceptance or rejection of their application
Optional public activities:
Optionally public presentation in Ukraine about support from Canada and CUIAF projects
Optionally public presentation in Canada about Ukraine (education, science, economy, public policy,
reforms, etc.)
