DVCA Representative Cricket Trial

Format, Venues & Fixtures

4 sides of 12 per side have been selected per age group
to play 3 matches against each other over the next 3
weeks. Sides will remain the same, with only changes
made due to absence or injury.
Each side will bat for 45 overs (max), games are to start
at 10am, arrival at venue is required no later than
9:30am. Lunch will be taken at 12:45pm for 30 minutes.
A BBQ and some drinks will be provided.
If 45 overs are not bowled by 12:45pm, lunch will be
called and the fielding team will only receive the overs
bowled to that point. All Captains/ players must get
through their overs efficiently. Slow over rates will be
noted as poor leadership and will impact leadership/
representative captaincy decisions made by the selection
panel. A case will need to be made if there are mitigating
circumstances.
Bowlers may bowl a maximum of 9 overs each. There is
no retirement score for batsman, however batsman may
be retired at the coachs discretion.
Full whites must be worn and official DVCA umpires will
be used. Games have been designed to be competitive,
with scores recorded on MyCricket.
These games are also meant to be difficult and will test
the endurance of some players, particularly those
backing up after Saturday senior cricket games. The
Representative Carnival in January is played under

exactly this 45 over format, with some rounds played
back-to-back. So potential players need to be able to
perform under these conditions.
