Personality traits, Genes and you

After analyzing Steve Jobs' life story, reading tens of articles about him and watching the
movie "Jobs" i managed to find out the personality traits that helped him succeed in life and
leave a great impact.
Steve wasn't an ordinary person, he had a rare combination of very special traits that helped
him move forward in spite of the setbacks he faced.
Its extremely important to know that personality traits can be developed. In many of my
previous articles i explained how unwanted traits can be changed and replaced with desired
ones. The reason i am saying this now is that i don't want you to think that Steve Jobs made it
because he had good genes.
Maybe he was just lucky to be born in an environment that stimulated the development of
certain traits but still this doesn't mean that you can't develop those traits as well.

Steve jobs personality traits

In my point of view those are the most important personality traits that helped Steve jobs
make it:

1) Very Far Sighted : Steve jobs saw the future beforehand. He wasn't talking about
imaginary products that he wanted to create but he was just describing what already
existed in his mind. He saw his products changing the world inside his mind first then he
decided to bring them to reality (see also How to visualize what you want)

2) Extreme perseverance: Steve jobs had that kind of perseverance that could only be
attained if a person believed in himself to a degree that he would know that his success
is going to be a fact of life (see also Rules of success explained)

3) Extreme passion: In some of his interviews Steve jobs revealed the secret behind
his perseverance. He said that passion fuels a person's journey and that if there was no
passion then an ordinary person will certainly quit

4) Extreme confidence (and sometimes arrogance): Steve jobs believed in his

products , mind and creations more than any man i ever heard about. Whenever
something went wrong he never blamed his products but he always believed something
can be done to turn things around (see also How to believe in your dreams). If you

5) Rebellious nature: Steve jobs wasn't just an ordinary Rebel but he was a one who
had no respect for the status quo and who refused to live by the rules of others. This
was clear in his habit of walking barefoot in public places (see also Why Did Steve jobs
like to walk barefoot)

6) Insanely ambitious: Steve jobs was clear about his mission since his early days. He
mentioned more than once that he wanted to change the world, influence it and leave a
great mark behind (see also How to change the world)

7) Bossy: This might not be regarded as a good trait by most people but in the case of
Steve jobs it helped him create exactly the products that were in his mind. Had he
allowed others to influence his vision he might have not became the Steve jobs we know
today

You can make it too

Developing the right personality traits for success is a 100% doable task. Yes its not easy but
its doable.
Persistence can be learned, passion can be developed and a vision can be acquired. Once
you start to believe that you are not stuck and that your future is in your hands you will be
able to make those changes to your personality.
Steve jobs was human just like you and whatever he did can be replicated.
Whether we like it or not we get exposed to a tremendous amount of negativity in our lives. If

Steve Jobs was a person with prodigious creativity and astonishing ideas about what the future should
look like. He was a renowned innovator who reshaped entire industries by his intellectual mind, innovative
ideas and unmatchable will-power, that gave consumers not only what they desired, but what they didnt
yet think they desired.

There were many traits that led Steve Jobs become the most successful entrepreneur of all time. His
personality traits are role model for us in every way to achieve unimaginable success. A few of the traits
that all the individuals, entrepreneurs and business owners can opt are:

1. Strong Vision
His vision for Apple was to develop products with simple user interface and elegant design would please
greatly to all age groups. He saw how companies such as Microsoft were able to dominate the software
market by developing and then licensing their operating system to run on multiple platforms. He was
strongly against that approach. He wanted entire control over the user experience which he achieved by
reducing his software to run on Apple products and gained full control over user experience in hardware
and software.

2. Strong Leadership
The way he stood by his vision inspired his employees and granted great respect from his business
partners and competitors. When he formed Apple in 1997 and the company was in financial crisis, he
knew exactly how to get rid of almost all but a few of key products and projects that matched his vision.
That led the resources and funds for Apple to survive and turned its finances around. Steve Jobs did not
invite users into his design studios. He never depended on market research and never crowd-sourced the
ideation process. Rather, he invited top designers (incl. Pixars John Lasseter and Apples Jony Ive) who
admired his moderate aesthetics and followed his designs simplicity. He and his team were dependent on
themselves and their intimate feeling to develop products that users did not even think they needed such
as the revolutionary iPod or iPhone.

3. Wonderful Thinking
Many entrepreneurs before Steve Jobs were great thinkers. But Steve Jobs was one of the greatest
thinker of all time. Steve was a showman. He knew people were doubtful to new ideas. Hed put on a
show to uncover and demonstrate his inventions so that you could understand his vision and get excited.
He was also a self-admirer in a way that great entrepreneurs are great preachers as well. That is why he
was also known for great presentations and public messages.

4. Exceptional Influence
One of the things that Steve Jobs was able to do very well was to create a beyond reality field, both in
positive and negative ways for him. It helped to motivate his team to finish projects by desired deadlines

(regardless of how impossible they seemed). He did this by addressing people passionately and having
them see things from his eyes. He conveyed his vision repeatedly and had others believe in his mission.

5. Survivor of Tough Times

Even though at times he was weak and feeble due to cancer, he still assembled the strength to go to
board meetings and even Apple product launches. If anyone saw any videos or pictures of his last days of
life, you could have realized how weak and underfed he looked. He believed that our time is limited so we
must have the courage to follow our heart and intuition and everything else is secondary.

6. Ready to Embrace Failure

After Steve Jobs built up Apple to be a multi-million dollar company, he was kicked out of his own
company by the board over disputes on how he was running the company and his own personal visions.
Therefore, after he got kicked out, he ended up starting NeXTa new startup computer company which
developed a next generation operating system (which was eventually used in OSX), and then he soon
became the CEO of Pixar, which turned the small animations studio into a global animation behemoth
with massive fame.
Eventually Jobs redeemed control of Apple, but his failure of getting kicked out of his own company
helped push him to gain more experience at other companies, and make Apple an even great company.

7. Serial Reformer
If we think about Apple as a company, they didnt necessarily invent thingsinstead they used existing
concepts and products and made them phenomenal. For example, Steve Jobs first had the concept of a
visual-based operating system from Xerox, with a system they called the Xerod PARC. He principally
took the same concept and produced the original Mac, with a blend some enhancements and his vision.
Steve Jobs even believe that good artists copy, great artists steal so he was never hesitant of stealing
great ideas.
