Students will fill out a KWL Chart. They will fill out what they Know and what they Wonder about the content we will cover during this unit. The purpose of this chart is to elicit prior knowledge. In addition, it gives the teacher the opportunity to correct misinformation. It also allows the teacher to gauge the areas of interest students have concerning the content. Kahoot.com is a web based quiz tool. Students can compete with each other as they answer questions that assess their learning. In my experience they genuinely seem to like this assessment tool. The teacher gets detailed information concerning the questions students missed. The teacher should use this information to review content students did not understand. This exit slip will ask students to summarize the content they have learned from the days lesson. The teacher should use this information to gauge the effectiveness of the lesson and to review any information students missed. During the lecture on Greco-Romans, I will be questioning students at various levels of comprehension. This will inform the teacher about the information students need clarified during the lecture. Students will use Quizlet to study vocabulary and take an online quiz. The quiz will inform the teacher about the information students need clarified. Students will write a letter to the citizens of Sandolvania in which they explain the definition of tyranny. The letter to Sandolvania will serve to assess that students understood the definition of tyranny. The teacher should use the information from this assessment to evaluate the effectiveness of the webercise activity. During the Venn Diagram Challenge students will compare and contrast Greco-Roman and Judeo-Christian ideas. Students should have studied the notes from the lecture on Greco-Romans and their graphic organizer from the Close reading assignment on Judeo-Christians. The teacher should use this information to evaluate the effectiveness of the guided note sheet used during the Greco-Roman lesson and the graphic organizer for the Judeo-Christian lesson. The teacher should also use this assessment to review or correct any information the students missed. Students will fill out the L section of the KWL chart. Students should write down the information they learned during the unit. This will help the teacher assess the effectiveness of the lessons in the unit.
