Purpose
ThecentraltaskofG/Laccountingistoprovideacomprehensivepictureofexternalaccountingandaccounts.
Recordingallbusinesstransactions(primarypostingsaswellassettlementsfrominternalaccounting)ina
softwaresystemthatisfullyintegratedwithalltheotheroperationalareasofacompanyensuresthatthe
accountingdataisalwayscompleteandaccurate.
Beyondfulfillingthelegalrequirements,GeneralLedgerAccountingalsofulfillsotherrequirementsformodern
accounting:
ParallelAccounting
GeneralLedgerAccountingallowsyoutoperformparallelaccountingbymanagingseveralparallel
ledgersfordifferentaccountingprinciples.
IntegrationofLegalandManagementReporting
InGeneralLedgerAccounting,youcanperforminternalmanagementreportinginparallelwithlegal
reporting.Forthispurpose,theProfitCenterAccountingfunctionsareintegratedwithGeneralLedger
Accounting.Furthermore,youcangeneratefinancialstatementsforanydimension(suchasprofit
center).
SegmentReporting
