Please support the Deo Gratias Collection of November 12/13. All revenue will go to our Clergy Aid
Society. We are grateful to God, and to our retired
clergy in the Diocese of St. Catharines who, from
the time of their ordination, have cared for us and
our spiritual needs. In thanksgiving to God for them
and their years of faithful service. Your generous
support of the Deo Gratias collection will enable us
to care for those who have dedicated their lives to
caring for us. The revenue from this collection does
not go into an endowment fund but goes directly to
the Clergy Aid Society which provides an income
for our retired clergy.

The Rest of the Story

The Maccabean martyrs profess faith in the afterlife. (2 Mc)
Encouragement to continue living the Christian life.
(2 Thes)
God is the God of the living. (Luke)
The Gospel story presents us
with the question: Whose wife
shall she be? The Sadducees,
temple priests, did not believe in
the resurrection and hoped to
discredit Jesus with their sevenedged question. The woman in
their story dies after having been
married to all seven brothers who each died before
her. When she gets to heaven, which of the seven
will be her true husband?
Actually, no matter who marries whom, or how
many times, it doesnt make any difference in heaven. Marriage is an earthly sacrament with lots of
cultural rules and requirements. In heaven there is
only Gods love for every individual. - Dc Dick Folger
