Mini project

Q .1,
(a) Sustainability :->
It is the capacity to maintain certain rate or level of anything, in the field of
environment study the sustainability helps the earth or biological system to
increase the life span of the forest, greenery and human life on the earth.

(b) Renewable sources :->

The renewable sources are which sources which can be used again and again. These
sources are natural sources; some renewable sources have endless supply. Example
:-> such as Solar Energy, Wind and Geo Thermal Pressure.

(c) Green house effect :->

The warming up of the surface of earth as well as lower atmosphere due to
substances such as carbon dioxide and warming vapors, which let the suns energy
to the ground but hinder the way of energy from the earth back into space.

(d) Carbon footprint :->

The amount of carbon dioxide released into the environment due to the result of
various activities of individual organization or community. Example :-> everyone
drives car; it burns fuel which releases co2.

Q.2,
(a) Geothermal electric power generation :->
Benefits :->
1. It is a renewable source of energy.
2. It does not create any pollution and is environment friendly.
3. There is no byproduct generated or wasted.
4. It can be used directly.
5. Maintenance cost is very less.
6. It is not dependent on weather condition.

Shortcomings :->
1. The total production of energy generated by this source is too small.
2. Initial installation cost of this plant is very high.
3. There is always a danger of eruption of volcano.
4. Only limited sites have potential to produce geothermal energy.

(b) Hydroelectric power generation :->

Benefits :->
1. It is also a renewable source of energy and does not generate pollution.
2. It is realizable source of energy.
3. It can produce continuous electric energy and we can adjust the water flow and
electricity output quite easy.
4. No fuel envolve in this whole setup.

Shortcomings :->
1. Highly qualified labor required for the maintenance of the plant.
2. Here is the danger of water all the time.
3. hard to reserve the flow of water in the bad weather conditions.

(c) Wind generated power generation :->

Benefits :->
1. It is environment friendly and does not cause any pollution.
2. It is renewable source of energy.
3. It generates 20 times more energy, which human population needs.

4. Space efficient.

Shortcomings :->
1. Depended on wind flow.
2. Expensive equipment.
3. Creates so much noise.
4. Dangerous for the birds.

Q.3,
(a) Solar energy for production of electricity.
Benefits :->
1. It is endless source of energy so we can produce much electricity by using this
under weather conditions.
2. It also does not create pollution.
3. It is renewable, sustainable source of energy.
4. It is environmental friendly so we can produce much electricity by increase in
solar cells.
5. It is silent source of energy.

Shortcomings :->
1. Totally depend on weather conditions.
2. Much expensive solar cells.
3. The storage of electricity produce by solar energy is also expensive.
4. Require more space.

(b) Solar power for water heating.

Benefits :->

1. No need of electricity to heat the water.

2. No fuel wastage.
3. Good for commercial buildings like hotels.

Shortcomings :->
1. Expensive setup.
2. Useless in bad weather conditions.
3. Occupy much space on roof.
