Score:

1. Specific heat (also called specific heat capacity) is the amount of heat required to
change a unit mass (or unit quantity, such as mole) of a substance by one degree in
temperature.
2. Conduction is the transfer of energy by the movement of particles that are in
contact with each other.
3. Convection is heat transfer by mass motion of a fluid such as air or water when the
heated fluid is caused to move away from the source of heat, carrying energy with it.
4. Radiation is the emission or transmission of energy in the form of waves or particles
through space or through a material medium.
5. Temperature is a measure of the average kinetic energy of the particles in a
system.
6. Pressure is defined as force per unit area.
7. Gauge pressure is zero-referenced against ambient air pressure, so it is equal to
absolute pressure minus atmospheric pressure.
8. Absolute pressure is zero-referenced against a perfect vacuum, so it is equal to
gauge pressure plus atmospheric pressure.
9. Differential pressure the pressure difference between two systems or volumes.
10. Heat is energy that spontaneously passes between a system and its surroundings in
some way other than through work or the transfer of matter.
