How did you become familiar with the nominees teaching? Was he or she your TA or instructor? Did you
supervise his or her teaching or TA duties? For what courses? When?
I became familiar with Ashishs teaching as he was a TA for Chemistry of Engineers 102 during
the Fall 2015 semester.
What makes the nominees teaching exceptional?
Aashish would always come to the TA sessions prepared with questions on chapters which were
currently being covered. This allowed students to gain a better understanding of the course content as well
as gain excellent exam preparation. Besides being well prepared and organized, he was also an exceptional
teacher. Aashish created a learning environment for all types of students. Students who were talented were

answer to the question, but his guiding method allowed the student to think more independently by

Please describe the nominees impact on student learning. Use specific examples to illustrate your
observation whenever possible.
An example of Aashishs impacts can be illustrated by his impact on my learning. Firstly, Aashishs
tutorials were very important to my understanding of the course. I learned just as much or more in his
sessions compared to in class. By the end of the year all the help Aashish gave was extremely important to
my success in the course. All the work done in the sessions and the tricks which Aashish demonstrated had
made the course easier to understanding. Also, the learning environment he made allowed the course to be
much more interesting and enjoyable. Lastly, Aashish was not only a master in the course but he has a true
passion for chemistry and teaching. Aashishs passion has influenced me to further my understanding of
chemistry to the next level.
Recipients will be announced at the March Senate meeting appear on the Daily Bulletin the next day.
