You will be informed of the proposal acceptance/rejection by 8th Feb 2014 through WBLE.
Once the proposal is accepted, you may then start developing the system. Where applicable,
use software simulation, calculations and experiments to help you develop the system.
Construct a prototype of the system on breadboard and test it at the lab (you may use any lab
with the lab assistants permission). You will need to purchase your own components from
an electronics shop.
Finally, you will be required to demonstrate the hardware of your system (breadboard is
acceptable) and to submit a report (one report per group) on your project.
3. Assessment
Assessment will be based on the following:
a. Hardware Demonstration Week 13 *Schedule will be announced
b. Report submit by 5pm, 7th April 2014
The assignment contributes 10% of your overall marks for the subject. All components
(hardware demonstration and report) must be completed, otherwise the marks given will not
be more than 4%. Plagiarism or late submission will be penalized or rejected.
In the hardware demonstration, you shall show that your hardware is working, explain its
operation and whether it has achieved the specifications. Marks will also be given for
presentation.
The report shall contain the following:
1. introduction
2. explanation and analysis of the circuit, including any software simulation, calculation
and experiment results
3. description of tests performed and results to show the specifications have been met (if
any specifications have not been met, suggest possible explanations.)
4. conclusion
5. references, if any (following a standard format)
Cover page of the report should follow the format given.
