Five Little Fishies

Five little fishies, swimming in a pool.


(Wiggle five fingers).

The first one said, This pool is cool.


(Show one finger, then wrap arms around body).

The second one said, This pool is deep.


(Show two fingers, then hands measure deep).

The third one said, I want to sleep.


(Show three fingers, then rest head on hands).

The fourth one said, Lets take a dip.


(Show four fingers, then hands dive into water).

The fifth one said, I spy a ship.


(Show five fingers, then form scope with hands to peer
through).

Fishing boat comes.


(Form V with fingers, then move hands away from body).

Line goes ker-splash.


(Pretend to throw fishing line).

Away the five little fishes dash.


(Wiggle five fingers away).

Print up the sheets with fish and shark on white
card stock.
Cut out - Laminate.
Place a small piece of velro on the back of each
piece.
Use for flannel story.
Remove fish as you do Five Little Fishes.

Fish Story
One, two, three, four, five,
(hold up fingers while counting)
Once a caught a fish alive,
Six, seven, eight, nine, ten.
(hold up additional fingers)
Then I let it go again.
Why did I let it go?
Because it bit my finger so.
Which finger did it bite?
The little finger on the right.
(hold up pinky on the right hand)

Five little shells lying on the shore,
Crash went the waves and then there were four.
Four little shells down by the sea,
Crash went the waves and then there were three.
Three little shells, smooth as new,

One little shell, left by itself,
I took it home and put it on my shelf.

Cranky Crabs
Five cranky crabs were digging on the shore.
One swam into a net and then there were four.
Four cranky crabby were floating in the sea.
One got tangled up in seaweed and then there were three.
Three cranky crabs were wondering what to do.
One dug a deep, deep hole, and then there were two.
Two cranky crabs were warming in the sun.
One got scooped up in a cup, and then there was one.
One cranky crab was smarter than his friends.
He hid between the jagged rocks.
Thats how the story ends.

on white card stock.
Cut out - Laminate.
Place a small piece of velro on the back of each
piece.

Remove crabs as you do Cranky Shells.
Place last crab behind rocks.

My Octopus Song

To swim they use all eight of their arms.
Their color changes to hide them from harm.
They live in the sea, not on a farm.

You can hear me singing way up north,
Playing and swimming, back and forth.
Im a mighty orca black and white.
In the sea, Im a beautiful sight.
Im not very big, but I am sleek.
I hunt for my food, because I have teeth.

Five little sea creatures;

The lobster walked away,

Fish Fingerplay
A golden fish went swimming by.
He swam down low; he swam up high.
He wriggled his fins and shook his scales.
and swishes his graceful golden tail.

Pass the Fish


Have children sit in a circle and pass around a toy
fish while the whole class chants:

Who caught a fish in the deep, blue, sea?


(Childs name holding fish) caught a fish in the
deep, blue, sea!
(Child holding fish says) Who me?
(The children say) Yes, you!
(Child holding fish says) Couldnt be!
(Child reply) Then who?
Start passing the fish again and do the poem
using another childs name.

Cut five fish shapes out of felt. Place the fish on
your flannel board. As you read the following
rhyme, let the children take turns catching the
fish by removing them from the flannel board.
