Goal:
1. Review the outline and explain expectations of the course. (appeals to CS,
AR, AS)
2. Explain the importance of Organizational Behaviour to business and industry.
(appeals to all four)
3. Meet new people (including instructor). (interests AS, AR, CR)
Specific Learning Outcomes:
At the end of this lesson, students will be able to:
1. Tell their classmates what the course is about and what the overall
expectations of the course are. (AS, AR, CR, CS)
2. Participate in an icebreaker activity in which they introduce themselves to their
classmates. (AS, AR, CR)
3. Define Organizational Behaviour. (CS, AS, AR)
4. Discuss previous work life experience in group activities. (ALL)
Rationale: (this section is good for me because I like to know why)
-First year students need an opportunity to get familiar with one another. Doing and
icebreaker and group work, facilitates that requirement.
-It is essential that students studying Organizational Behaviour be anchored in the
importance of this topic as a benefit to their future work lives.

made him or her, the best boss to you?
2. Do you remember the worst boss that you have ever had? What were the
qualities that made her or him, the worst boss ever?
3. What characteristics do you hope to find in the organization that you work for
after you are finished school?
4. Name qualities that we are responsible for bringing to the workplace.
5. What are some of the challenges you may face in working with other people?
