CERTIFICATION SERVICES FOR OFFSHORE INSTALLATIONS

RINA business activities consist in offering certification, verification, control, assistance and consultancy services to economic and institutional
operators, aimed at improving the safety and quality of their products, processes and services.

Every offshore plant and installation requires certification. The structural design, topside critical components, process, equipment and pipelines
must meet established standards. RINA has carried out enormous certification services for offshore plants and facilities for the production and
transfer of oil and gas from the offshore extraction site to measurement and control stations on land.

Throughout its history, RINA has progressively diversified its activities, transferring the skills acquired and consolidated in the marine industries
to other sectors, covering quality, environmental and product management system certification, social accountability certification and advanced
services for industry, to offer strategic support to organizations which operate nationally and internationally, thus guaranteeing Italy an authoritative
figure in the shipping and industrial sectors.

RINA performs re-qualification of Offshore Structures exceeding the original design life that need to be maintained in production. The ageing of
the worlds fixed offshore structures and the desire to extend their service life calls for an advanced and cost-effective approach to verification,
including probabilistic methods for planning inspection for fatigue cracks. The risk of subsidence and wave-in-deck scenarios also demands
sophisticated non-linear analyses of older platforms.
The platforms are reassessed to verify and possibly update the residual structural capability, based on current (fatigue and corrosion) conditions.
This certification will provide an added economic benefit to the operator in maintaining the platform in production even if the platform has
spanned its design life.
RINA also certifies the Offshore Platform in service, based on survey activities and Survey Report review, to be performed according to the
Inspection and Maintenance strategy planned according to RINA Rules or other recognized standards. This is very important to ensure the
structural soundness till the end of the designed service life.
We provide a balance of routine inspection and independent examinations aligned to our customers inspection plans. Our team ensures that the
structure is maintained at a low risk level and the operator can get advantage from our findings and advice.

OFFSHORE OPERATIONS CERTIFICATION

RINA provides certification of transportation and installation for offshore structures and vessels, usually between the fabrication yard and offshore
field. Certification of the entire process and procedure and approval of drawings includes:
Load-out
Transportation
Towing Approval, Permission Survey
Lifting / Launching
Installation (upending, pile driving etc.)
Float-over
Mooring and Seakeeping.

DESIGN VERIFICATION AND CERTIFICATION

RINA provides independent third party verification and certification of design and documentation pertaining to Oil and Gas industry. Our design
verification ensures that contractors and vendors meet operators requirements throughout the design process, in line with overall safety goals
under the governing regime.
As the industry moves into more challenging fields and the regulatory regime becomes more complex, third party review, independent verification
and due diligence play an important role in ensuring confidence in assets, regulatory compliance, safe operations and fit-for-purpose evaluations.

PRESSURE VESSELS AND EQUIPMENT CERTIFICATION

RINA provides verification and certification services for pressure vessels and process equipment, with a choice that includes design review and
inspections. Major challenge of exploration in more extreme environments is that pressure vessels and process equipment need to handle critical
operative parameters like high pressure and temperature. The high risks involved while designing and manufacturing this equipment shows that
certification and verification are essential and should be carried out by a competent Third Party.
Certification service assesses whether design and manufacturing activities conform to RINA standards and/or international codes and standards.
Our verification service can be delivered in all project phases, and checks that pressure containing equipment complies with specified requirements.

MARINE WARRANTY SURVEY

Marine Operations for the fabrication and installation of offshore facilities are usually critical stages from the risk point of view.
The purpose of Warranty Surveys is to ensure that Marine Operations are performed within defined risk levels, tolerable to marine insurance and
to the industry, as well as to the national and international Regulatory Bodies.
Such verification is carried out through:
A. review and approval of engineering documentation
B. site visits before the operation
C. attendance while operation is performed.

The certification is formalized through the release, in different phases of the project development, of Document Approval, Inspection Reports,
Statements of Conformity and Final Certificates.
Offshore operators can benefit from the experience of RINAs Marine Warranty Survey team to mitigate risks, save time and eliminate problems
during complex logistical and installation phases of a major project.
We have performed variety of operations which include heavy cargo weighing up to 16000 Tones. RINAs guideline for Marine Warranty Survey
shows the dependability of our teams and we are well experienced to handle the main international standards.
Our in-house engineering staff checks and reviews the design and planning of marine operations, starting from load out from the fabrication
yard, through transportation to installation completion at the offshore site. A full review of engineering drawings, calculations and procedures
developed by contractors is carried out.
RINAs team recommends the actions necessary to meet the requirements of the reference standards. The presence of our surveyors during marine
operations completes the certification process, by documenting the conformity and correct execution of the works to provide all parties with an
authoritative warranty.
