Web 2.0 Tools

Learning Target:
I can demonstrate knowledge of Web 2.0 Tools.
Materials Needed:
ActivBoard / chrome books for teachers / Listly link emailed to participants
Opening:
Discuss what Web 2.0 means.
Discuss how Web 2.0 can be used in a classroom.
Work Session:
1) TTW discuss that the Listly link was shared with them through their staff emails.
2) Introduce Padlet: Teachers will be shown how Padlet works. Teachers will post their
favorite color on the example Padlet. Then they will be shown an actual Padlet used in a
classroom as a place for a discussion post. We will discuss the benefits of using this in
the classroom.
3) Introduce Thinglink: Teachers will be redirected back to the Listly link to click on the
Thinglink link. Teachers will be given time to explore the Thinglink created for a lesson
on September 11th for a U.S. History II class. After they have explored the Thinkglink
we will discuss how they could use this Web 2.0 tool in their classroom.
4) Introduce Listly: We will discuss that the teachers have been using this Web 2.0 to use
the links in this PLT. TTW discuss the fact that there are extra resources linked in this
Listly to help them with these Web 2.0 Tools. We will discuss the benefits of this
curation tool in the classroom.
Closing:
We will discuss the benefits and ways the teachers can use these tools in their own classrooms.
TTW try to encourage teacher discussion and collaboration on using these tools in their own
classrooms.

teacher discussion / teacher posts on Padlet / exploration of Thinklink and Listly
