3. OPEN ENDED QUESTIONS

(INSTRUCTOR)
3.1)

Please comment on specific characteristics of the course that were most beneficial to you:
He actually had conversations about the topic with the students instead of just reading off of the slides.
I really loved the detailed explanations and power point slides. I also liked how the problem sets were great to study from with the study
guides. The extra-credit questions on the exams also were great in that they helped ease some of my test anxiety.
The homework assignments and tests required a deeper understanding of the material and brought the subject into a real-world context.
Well Documented class

3.2)

Please comment on specific aspects of the course that need improvement:

Discsussion sections. Instead of having 40 pages of multiple choice questions, maybe reduce it to 10-15 pages.
I think it would be helpful if even more time during lectures was spent going over graphs and doing problems like those in the discussion
section and on the homework. I often felt like I understood everything in the lecture, then struggled a bit when it came time to actually
apply the concepts, so I think the more practice, the better.
None
The classroom is to dark and non-colorful.

3.3)

If necessary, clarify any of your previous responses or make additional comments:

5. OPEN ENDED QUESTIONS (TEACHING ASSISTANT)

5.1)

Please comment on specific characteristics of the teaching assistant that were most beneficial to you:
Everything was well documented
The TAs were great at answering questions during the discussion section.
Very helpful and they knew their stuff.
When going through the problem sets, he made us say why we said the answer we picked which made us think about the question and
answer using the material we used as opposed to just guessing. He was super helpful answering our questions on the material or
clarifying for exam questions as well.

5.2)

Please comment on specific aspects of the teaching assistant that need improvement:
None
Although I have had Jeff before, I thought he was great so no improvements needed.
I would prefer if there were some open-ended problems done together in the discussion section, in addition to the multiple choice
problems.
