Course Title: Introduction to Social Philosophy
Course Description:
The course focuses on the philosophical study of the sociality of man,
on the nature of human society including its various principles. It lays the
foundation of concepts about order and harmony in social groups and
processes through the development in the students, a clear understanding of
the essentials of human rights and promotion of nationhood. It emphasizes
the different social philosophies that will explain the uniqueness of every
person and how these affect the educational system.
Credit: 3 units
Prerequisite: None

Course Objectives:
At the end of the course, students should have the opportunity to:
a deeper understanding:
o of human existence as one of participative knowledge or
understanding;
o of the nature and meaning of human freedom as expressed in
his/her being someone who has a body and as, Heidegger says,
a being who in his being, this being itself is at issue ;
o of co-existence, (i.e., existent among existents) or as a beingwith, -through, -by-the-other;
o of as to how the human being in such an inevitable predicament
conducts and views him/herself;
a better perspective of their respective lives;
acquire a comprehensive understanding of the Social Philosophy of
man;
internalize the philosophical ideas fit in making critical decision as a
teacher;
develop critical thinking skills in decision making
acquire a working knowledge of the:
o nature of mans Social Philosophy
