1. Definisi
Sistem yang berfungsi untuk mengeluarkan
cairan yang terkumpul di saluran-saluran bilga
(bilge course) ataupun dari sumuran bilga (bilge
well) yang ada di dalam kapal.
Cairan: water, mixed water: oil, sludge, water
(FW/SW), chemicals, dll
2. Prinsip Umum
Merupakan sistem yang diatur secara khusus oleh
klas
Sistem bilga terutama dirancang untuk
keselamatan kapal (safety)
Prinsipnya sistem ini berfungsi untuk
mengeluarkan cairan yang berasal dari
kompartemen kedap, kecuali ballast, oil dan
water tank
Sistem juga harus mampu melayani area2 yang
terpisah (chain locker, deck over peak tank, dll).
Mekanisme bisa terpisah dari sistem bilga utama.
3. Aturan Klasifikasi
Jalur Bilga (Bilge Lines)
Lay out jalur bilga
Bilge lines and bilge suction are to be so arranged
that the bilges can be completely pumped even
under disadvantageous trim conditions.
Bilge suction are normally to be located on both
sides of the ship. For compartments located fore and
aft in the ship, one bilge suction may be considered
sufficient provided that it is capable of completely
draining the relevant compartment.
Penembusan Tanki
Bilge pipes may not be led through tanks for
lubricating oil, thermal oil, drinking water or
feed water.
Where bilge pipes are led through fuel tanks
located above the double bottom and
terminate in spaces which are not accessible
during the voyage, an additional non-return valve
is to be fitted in the bilge pipe where the pipe
from the suction enters the fuel tank.

One bilge pump with a smaller capacity is
acceptable. However, the capacity of the smaller
bilge pump shall not be less than 85 % of the
calculated capacity.
Pompa Bilga
Ballast pumps, stand-by seawater cooling
pumps and general service pumps may also be
used as independent bilge pumps provided they
are self-priming and of the required capacity.
