Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Aurangabad is A Grade


University re-accredited by NAAC, Bangaluru in 2013. The jurisdiction of the University is
spread over Aurangabad, Jalna, Beed and Osmanabad districts.
It is hereby Notified to all the concern that the advertisements No. 98/2013, 99/2013,
106/2013 and 107/2013 published for the recruitment of teaching staff are cancelled on
Administrative and Legal grounds excluding the posts filled up in the Advertisement
No. 98/2013.
Online applications in the prescribed form are invited from eligible Indian nationals for

A. (i) An eminent scholar with Ph.D. qualification(s) in the concerned/allied/relevant


discipline and published work of high quality, actively engaged in research with
evidence of published work with a minimum of 10 publications as books and/or
research/policy papers.
(ii)

A minimum of ten years of teaching experience in university/college, and/or experience


in research at the University/National level institutions/industries, including experience
of guiding candidates for research at doctoral level.

(iii)

Contribution to educational innovation, design of new curricula and courses, and


technology mediated teaching learning process.

(iv)

A minimum score as stipulated in the Academic Performance Indicator (API) based


Performance Based Appraisal System (PBAS), set out in UGC Regulations, (dated 3006-2010 format enclosed), on Minimum Qualifications for Appointment of Teachers and
other Academic Staff in Universities and Colleges and Measures for the maintenance of
Standards in Higher Education 2010 (Appendix III, Table-II(c))

B.

An outstanding professional, with established reputation in the relevant field, who has
made significant contributions to the knowledge in the concerned/allied/relevant
discipline, to be substantiated by credentials.

Associate Professor:
i.

Good academic record with a Ph.D. Degree in the concerned / allied/ relevant disciplines.

ii.

A Masters Degree with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale
wherever grading system is followed).

iii.

A minimum of eight years of experience of teaching and/or research in an academic /


research position equivalent to that of Assistant Professor in a University, College or
Accredited Research Institution/industry excluding the period of Ph.D. research with
evidence of published work and a minimum of 5 publications as books and/or
research/policy papers.

iv.

Contribution to educational innovation, design of new curricula and courses, and


technology mediated teaching learning process with evidence of having guided doctoral
candidates and research students.

v.

A minimum score as stipulated in the Academic Performance Indicator (API) based


Performance Based Appraisal System (PBAS), set out in UGC Regulations, (dated 30-062010 format enclosed), on Minimum Qualifications for Appointment of Teachers and
other Academic Staff in Universities and Colleges and Measures for the maintenance of
Standards in Higher Education 2010 [Appendix III, Table-II (c)].

Assistant Professor:

Degree level in a relevant subject from an Indian University, or an equivalent Degree from
an accredited Foreign University.

Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the National
Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by the
UGC like SLET/SET.

iii.

Notwithstanding anything contained in sub-clauses (i) and (ii) to this Clause 4.4.1,
candidates, who have been awarded a Ph. D. Degree in accordance with the University
Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of Ph. D. Degree)
Regulations, 2009, shall be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility
condition of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor or
equivalent positions in Universities/Colleges/Institutions.

iv.

NET/SLET/SET shall also not be required for such Masters Programmes in disciplines for
which NET/SLET/SET is not conducted.

Minimum required qualifications for post(s) of Associate Professor and


Assistant Professor in Drama discipline.
Associate Professor:
Good academic record with Doctoral Degree with performing ability of high professional
standard as recommended by an expert committee constituted by the University concerned
for the said purpose.

ii.

Eight years of experiences of teaching in a University / College and/ or research in


University/national level institutions excluding the period spent for obtaining the research
Degree.

iii.

Has made significant contributions to the knowledge in the subject concerned, as


evidenced by quality of publications. Contributions to educational innovation such as
designing new courses and/ or curricula and/ or outstanding performing achievements in
the field of specializations.
OR

iv.

A traditional and a professional artist with highly commendable professional achievement


in the concerned subject, who should be or have:

1.

A recognized artist of Stage/ Radio/TV;

2.

Eight years of outstanding performing achievements in the field of specialization;

3.

Experience in designing of new courses and /or curricula;

4.

Participation in Seminars/Conferences in reputed institutions and

5.

Ability to explain the logical reasoning of the subject concerned and adequate knowledge
to teach theory with illustrations in that discipline.

Assistant Professor:

i.

Good academic record as defined by the concerned University with at least 55% marks
(or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) at the
Masters Degree level, in the relevant subject from an Indian University or an equivalent
degree from an accredited Foreign University.

Ph.D. in Civil Engineering or Ph.D. in Agricultural Engineering or Ph.D. in Water and


Land Management.

managerial level excluding the period spent for obtaining the research Degree.
OR

iv.

In the event the candidate is from industry and the profession, the following requirements
shall constitute as essential requirements:

(a)

Consistently good academic record with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a
point scale wherever grading system is followed) in Masters Degree in a relevant
discipline.

(b)

A minimum of ten years experience of teaching, industry / research / profession, out of


which five years must be at the level of Assistant Professor or equivalent excluding the
period spent for obtaining research Degree. The candidate should have Professional work
experience, which is significant and can be recognized at national / international level as
equivalent to Ph.D. and ten years managerial experience in industry / profession of which
at least five years should be at the level comparable to that of Lecturer / Assistant
Professor.

Without prejudice to the above, the following conditions may be considered desirable:-

a)

Teaching, research, industrial and / or professional experience in a reputed organization;

b)

Published work, such as research papers, patents filed / obtained, books and / or technical

Experience of guiding the project work / dissertation of PG / Research Students or


supervising R&D projects in industry.

vi.

Desirable:
Minimum eight years of teaching as Assistant Professor in the relevant subject at P.G.
level.

Assistant Professor :

i.

Essential:

1.

First Class Masters Degree in a relevant discipline. [M.E. (Civil) or M.Tech. (Agricultural
Engineering) or M.Sc. (Agriculture) or MMS (WLM)] from an Indian University, or an
equivalent Degree from an accredited Foreign University.

ii.

Desirable:

1.

Master of Business Administration (MBA)

Minimum required qualifications for post(s) of Associate Professor


under the faculty of Engineering and Technology discipline:

Associate Professor:

i.

Essential:
A Ph.D. Degree with First Class at Bachelors or Masters Degree in the appropriate
branch of Engg., & Tech., and experience of eight years in teaching, research and / or
industry at the level of Lecturer or equivalent grade, excluding period spent on obtaining
the research Degree.
OR

ii.

In the event the candidate is from industry and the profession, the following shall
constitute as essential:

1.

First Class Masters Degree in the appropriate branch of Engineering and Technology.;

2.

Significant professional work which can be recognized as equivalent to a Ph.D. Degree in


appropriate branch of Engineering and Technology, and industrial / professional
experience of eight years in a position equivalent to the level of Lecturer,

Provided that the recognition for significant professional work shall be valid only if the
same is recommended unanimously by a 3-Member Committee of Experts appointed by
the Vice-Chancellor of the University.

Minimum essential qualifications for the post of Deputy Librarian:


i.

A Masters Degree in library science/information science/documentation with at least


55% of the marks or its equivalent grade of B in the UGC seven point scale and a
consistently good academic record.

ii.

Five years experience as an Assistant University Librarian/College Librarian.

iii.

Evidence of innovative library service and organization of published work and


professional commitment, computerization of library.

iv.

Desirable: A M.Phil./ Ph.D. Degree in Library Science /Information Science/


Documentation /Archives and Manuscript-keeping /Computerization of Library.

Minimum essential qualifications for the post of Assistant Librarian :


i.

A Masters Degree in Library Science / Information Science / Documentation Science or


an equivalent professional Degree with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a
point scale wherever grading system is followed) and a consistently good academic record
with knowledge of computerization of library.

ii.

Qualifying in the national level test conducted for the purpose by the UGC or any other
agency approved by the UGC.

iii.

However, candidates, who have been awarded Ph.D. degree in accordance with the
University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of Ph.D.
Degree), Regulations, 2009, shall be exempted from the requirement of the minimum
eligibility condition of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and appointment of University
Assistant Librarian.

Minimum essential qualifications for post of Keeper of History Museum:


Keeper of History Museum:
Essential :
i.

A Masters Degree in Ancient Indian History Culture and Archaeology/ Indian


History/ having good academic records with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent
grade of B in the 7 point scale with letter grades O, A, B, C, D, E and F at the
Masters degree level in the relevant subject from an Indian University, or an
equivalent Degree from the Foreign University.

ii.

Post Graduate Diploma in Archaeology from the Archaeological Survey of India or


equivalent.

iii.

Beside fulfilling the above qualifications, candidates should have cleared the
eligibility test (NET/SET) for the Lecturers, conducted by the UGC, CSIR, or similar
test accredited by the UGC.
Desirable:

IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS

Online applications are to be submitted on University Website www.bamu.ac.in under


Recruitment heading and Two copies of such online application along with attested true
copies of the relevant enclosures shall be submitted along with the requisite registration
fee in the form of Demand Draft/receipt, failing which it will be treated as rejected.
Self-attested copies or reprints of testimonials will not be returned. Original documents
shall be produced at the time of interview.

Candidates must read all the instructions before filling the application form. A
prescribed format of Application is available on the University website
www.bamu.ac.in.

Application made on plain paper or in the form of bio-data or CV shall not be


entertained under any circumstances, whatsoever and same will be rejected summarily.
Also, applications received by E-mail and Fax shall not be entertained.

Application Form found incomplete in any respect shall be rejected without any notice.

Grade "B" in the 7-Point scale with letter grades O, A, B, C, D, E & F shall be regarded
as equivalent of 55% wherever the grading system is followed as prescribed by U.G.C.

For determining Good Academic Record the following criteria shall be adopted.
a] A candidate holding a Ph.D. Degree should possess at least a Second Class Masters
Degree, or
b] A candidate without Ph.D. Degree should possess High Second Class Masters
Degree and Second Class in the Bachelors Degree, or
c] A candidate not possessing a Ph.D. Degree but possessing Second Class Masters
Degree should have obtained First Class in the Bachelors Degree.
All qualifications and experience will be considered as on the closing date, i.e. the last
date of receipt of application form (Hard Copy).

Applicant must write name of the post, his/her name and full address on the back of the
Demand Draft without fail.

Self-attested copies of the certificates should be attached in support of information given


in the form wherever necessary and serial No. of enclosures attached should be indicated
in the respective column given in the form. Any information contained in the attached
certificates will not be considered unless it is claimed in the application form. Attach
index.

Do not attach any original document with the application.

10. Candidates should attach self-attested copies of caste validity certificate and non-creamy
layer certificate wherever applicable.

11. Candidates from reserved category who are domiciled outside Maharashtra will be treated as
Open category candidates as per the Maharashtra Govt. Circular No. CBS-1290/
23116/Pra.Kra378/ Mapak.5 dated 24-8-1995.

12. A Fee of Rs. 400/- (for Open category) and Rs. 200/- (for candidates belonging to
reserved categories) towards processing charges (non-refundable) should be paid by
demand draft drawn in favour of Registrar, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada
University, Aurangabad or the candidate can remit the said amount in the Accounts
Section, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Aurangabad and enclose the
original Receipt with the application form. The Demand Draft must be placed / tagged at
the top of the application.
13. Canvassing in any form on behalf of any candidate will disqualify the candidature.
14. Impersonation or submission of false/fabricated/tampered documents or making
incorrect/false statements by a candidate, shall, in addition to debarring him/her
permanently or for a specific period from any employment in the University, render
him/her liable for criminal prosecution.
15. Disputes related to this advertisement are subject to Aurangabad jurisdiction.

16. The University will not be responsible for any postal delay at any stage in the
recruitment process.

17. The University reserves its right to fill up or not to fill up the post or to modify/alter /
cancel the advertisement at any stage. Nobody can stake claim in this regard, or cannot
appeal in the court. The decision about any dispute, complaint regarding recruitment
process shall vest with the Appointing Authority and it will be final. No correspondence
in this regard will be entertained.

19. The University shall not be held responsible for postponement or cancellation of
scheduled interview for any unforeseen/unavoidable reason.
20. Applications received after due date, and not in prescribed format, will not be considered
under any circumstances.
21. Those who are in service should apply through proper channel. In case, the original
application has not been sent through proper channel, the candidate/ applicant will have
to submit 'No Objection Certificate' from his/her employer to the University at the time
of interview, if he/she is called for interview. If the 'No Objection Certificate' is not
produced, he/she shall not be entitled to appear for the interview.
22. Incumbents shall be entitled to pensionary benefits as per rules prescribed by the Govt.
of Maharashtra from time to time.
23. A candidate appointed in the University services after 1 Nov. 2005 would be covered
under new "Defined Contribution Pension Scheme" and the existing pension scheme (i.e.,
Maharashtra Civil Services (Pension) Rules, 1982 and the Maharashtra Civil Services
(Commutation Pension) Rules, 1984) and General Provident Fund Scheme will not be
applicable as per Government Resolution SENIVE/1005/127/SEVA-4, dated 8 Nov,
2005. This rule shall not be applicable to the candidate who is already working in
pensionable establishment, subject to the conditions mentioned in the G.R.No. CPS1006/87/SER-4 dt.12 Jan., 2007 & 24 Feb., 2009.

24. As per provision contained in State Govt. Notification No. SRV.2000/ CR(17/2000)/XII
dated 28th March, 2005, issued by General Administration Department, Mantralaya,
Mumbai, candidates must submit the prescribed declaration of Small Family as one of the
essential requirement for recruitment. The prescribed proforma is enclosed with the
application form as Declaration-II.

26. Candidates residing abroad must send a hard copy of an application by post duly signed,
so as to reach this office on or before the last date. Scanned or photo copy of an
application will not be considered.
27. Qualifications and experience are as notified by the Government of Maharashtra,
University Grants Commission and Dr.Babasaheb Ambedkar Marthwada University,
Aurangabad.
28. Date & Time of Oral Interview will be communicated separately.

29. The prescribed essential qualifications are the minimum. Mere possession of minimum

qualification does not confer any right to be called for interview and/or selection.
30. Teaching Experience as an approved teacher by the University will only be considered.

to a reasonable limit, on the basis of qualification and experience, higher than those
prescribed in this advertisement, and as per criteria decided by scrutiny committee.

33. The decision of the University in all matters shall be final. No correspondence,

whatsoever, shall be entertained from the candidates in connection with the process of
selection/interview, and reasons for not being called for interview.

40. In case of recruitment to the teaching posts in the University, in a subject of interdisciplinary nature where Teachers are drawn from different subjects/ faculties, the
recruitment qualifications required for the concerned subject/faculty for the respective post
in the University shall be applicable.
41. Equivalent published work shall be determined by a Committee of three experts to be
nominated by the Research and Recognition Committee under Section 36(A) (5) of the
Maharashtra Universities Act, 1994.

A relaxation of the minimum marks at the PG level from 55% to 50% for appointment as
Lecturer may be provided to the candidates who have cleared the JRF examination
conducted by UGC/CSIR only prior to 1989, when the minimum marks required to appear
for JRF exam. were 50%.

43. Equivalent grade B in the 7 point scale, with letter grades O,A,B,C,D,E, and F, shall be
regarded as equivalent of 55% wherever the grading system is followed.
44. A relaxation of 5% may be provided, from 55% to 50% of the marks to the Ph.D. Degree
holders, who have passed their master degree prior to 19th September 1991.
45. A relaxation of 5% may be provided, from 55% to 50% of the marks, at the Masters level
for SC/ST categories.
46. Subject wise / cadre wise reservation is made applicable as per Government Resolution
No.NGC-1490/(2991)/Uni -4 dated 24-04-1995.
47. As per Government Resolution No. NGC-1494/(2991)/Uni-4 dated 20-11-1996, reservation
is not applicable to isolated posts.
48. Reservation has been made applicable in the light of Government Resolution
No.BCC/1097/PK/63/16-B dated 18-10-1997 issued by the B.C. Cell, General
Administration Department Mantralaya, Mumbai to the Universities and affiliated colleges
vide Government Resolution No.NGC-1495/3183/Uni-4 dated 8th December 1997 issued
by the Higher and Technical Education Department, Mantralaya, Mumbai.

49. As per proviso to sub-section 6 of Section 76 of the Maharashtra Universities Act, 1994,
for the post of Professor, the Selection Committee may recommend for appointment, other
person who may not have applied or appeared before the Selection Committee.

50. Out of the posts advertised, the number of posts viz; Professor 03, Associate Professor
04 & Assistant Professor 02 are reserved for Women as per the Govt. Resolution No. 82 /
2001 / - 2000/|.G. 415/E.2/ E 25 2001.

51. If the candidates from women category are not available, the male candidate from the same
category will be considered for selection as per Government Resolution No Sankirna / 1096
/ pra. Kra 30 / ka-2 dated 1.8.1997 for appointment.

52. 3% reservation of the total posts, advertised, for Specially Abled Persons (Physically
handicapped) candidates, shall be applicable as per G.R.No.SRV/1097/PK/31/98/16-B/
dated 16-03-1999.
53. Candidates belonging to specific reserved category from Maharashtra State only shall be
considered for reserved post and they are required to submit Caste Validity certificate at the
time of joining, in case it is not submitted alongwith the application form.

treated as Open category candidates as per Government Resolution No. CBC-1290 / 23116

55. Preference will be given to sports persons as per Provision under Maharashtra State
Government Resolution rekridho-2002 / pra. Kra. 68/ kriyuse-2 dated 30.04.2005.
56. The candidates appointed in the University services after 1 November 2005 are / would be
covered under New Defined Contribution Pension Scheme and the existing pension
scheme (i.e. Maharashtra Civil Services Pension) Rule, 1982 and Maharashtra Civil
Services (Commutation pension) Rule 1984 and General Provident Fund Scheme will not
be applicable as per Government Resolution SENIVE / 1005 / 127 / SEVA-4 dated 31
October 2005. This rule shall not be applicable to the candidates who are already working
in pensionable establishment. However, same will be made applicable with the prior
approval of the competent authority.
57. Selected candidates shall have to obtain and produce one of the certificates within two
years from the date of their appointment viz; 1) DOEACC 2) MS-CIT. However,
exemption will be given as per the existing rules.

58. A candidate furnishing incorrect or false information shall stand disqualified at any stage.
59. The right is reserved with the University either to fill or not to fill the post(s) or to modify /
alter / cancel the advertisement.
60. In addition to the usual terms and conditions, the service conditions contained in the G.R.
No. NGC-2009/(243/09) vishi-1, dated 12-08-2009 and Sankirn-2011/(25/11) vishi-1, dated
15-02-2011 shall form the terms and conditions for appointment.
61. Candidates should apply online on link and submit their Hard Copy of application
alongwith Demand Draft of Nationalised Bank towards non-refundable application fees
[Rs. 200/- for candidates applying for Reserved Category post(s) & Rs. 400/- for candidates
applying for Open Category post(s)] drawn in favour of the Registrar, Dr. Babasaheb
Ambedkar Marathwada University, Aurangabad payable at Aurangabad or candidate can
pay fees in the Accounts Section, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University,
Aurangabad and enclose original receipt with the Hard Copy.
62. The candidates belonging to reserve categories and attending the Interview will be paid
Second Class Railway fare OR Actual Bus fare (ordinary Bus) as traveling allowance for to
and fro journey only, subject to production of unemployment certificate from the
Competent Authority.

Professor (Reserved post), the candidate from the same category (without NET/SET)
fulfilling all other conditions of the qualification will be appointed on contract basis with
consolidated salary of Rs. 24000 /- as per G.R. No. SCP 2010 / (130/10)/ Mashi 1, dated
05.05.2011].

67. The teachers selected may be transferred/ deputed to Sub-Campus at Osmanabad or


Aurangabad and vice-a-versa as per the exigencies.
68. Selection process and the appointments will be subject to the final outcome of the Writ
Petition No.12051/2015 filed by Maharashtra All Bahujan Teachers Association V/s State
of Maharashrtra and Others.
69. Corrigendum in respect of the said advertisement will be notified / published on the
University website www.bamu.ac.in under Recruitment heading and newspapers from time
to time.
70. If the candidates from earmarked reserved category are not available, the reservation for
the same post will be considered as per Government Resolution No BCC/ 1094 / CR57/94/16- dated 5.12.1994 for appointment.

107/2013 for the same post, need to apply to this Advertisement again as per the
available vacancy. In such cases, no application fees will be charged if earlier receipt
of fees paid is attached with the application.

/caste validity certificate issued by competent authority. The appointment of the selected
candidate on respective reserved category shall be made only after the receipt of Caste
Validity Certificate in the light of Govt. of Maharashtra G. R. No. CBC 10/2010/Pr. Kr.
47/mavk-5, dated 26-03-2010.
