Axact earned over $200m selling bogus degrees | Pakistan Geo.

KARACHI: Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has submitted nal challan of the Axact mega fake
degree scandal case with the Sessions Court, according to which Axact earned over $200 million by
selling fake degrees to 245,000 students across the world.
Up to 321 Pakistanis were identied so far who were victims of Axact.
Axact used to send documents of students including fake degrees and certicates to US and other countries
and then provided these documents to the students individually from those countries.
Shoaib Sheikh and 14 other persons were arrested while four were declared proclaimed offenders. Ayesha
Shoaib, wife of Shoaib Sheikh, was on bail in this case. The FIA has submitted challan along with 300 fake
certicates of educational institutions, letters, folders, and envelopes and other details with the court.
According to challan the degrees were dispatched to the students of different countries through shipment.
Meanwhile, Additional District and Sessions Judge, Judicial Complex, adjourned hearing of the case against
Axact about Hawala/Hundi till March 17.
Chief Executive of Axact Shoaib Sheikh was not produced in the court during hearing. The court was told that
he was ill and under medical treatment and, therefore, he was not produced in the court. While other accused
Junaid and Younis appeared in the court, who were on bail.
