Objectives:
1. To study the basic structure of automobile, components of engine and their functions.
2. To study the engine auxiliary systems such as fuel injection system, electrical system, ignition
system, turbochargers and emission control.
3. To study the different types transmission system such as clutch, gearboxes torque converters
4. To study the steering, brakes and suspension systems.
5. To study the alternative energy sources, electric vehicles, hybrid vehicles and fuel cell.

Understand the basic structure of the automobile, components of engine and their functions.

Gain knowledge about the systems that are transmitting power from prime mover of automobile to the road
wheels.
Acquire knowledge of alternative energy sources such as natural gas, LPG, bio-diesel, bio-ethanol, hydrogen,
electric vehicles, hybrid vehicles and fuel cell.
