1st Hadith
Safiyyah bint Shaibah narrates: Bibi Aisha
said, The
Prophet B went out one morning wearing a striped cloak of
black camel hair. Imam al-Hasan bin Ali
came and he
enfolded him in the cloak, then Imam al-Hussain
came
and he enfolded him in it, then Sayyidah Fatimah A came
and he enfolded her in it, then Imam Ali C came and he
enfolded him in it, then he said, Allah wishes only to
remove Ar-Rijs (evil deeds and sins) from you, O members
of the family, and to purify you with a thorough
purification. 1
2nd Hadith
Hadrat Zaid Bin Arqam
narrates that one day the Holy
Prophet B stood to give Khutbah and then in his Khutbah
he exalted the position of Allah through his Hamd and Sana
followed by,

I am nothing more than a being just like you all, and in
near future I will get a call from Allah for my death, and I
will obey His orders. I am leaving two things amongst you,
if you follow it, you will never go astray. The first is the
book of Allah, the Holy Quran, it has guidance and light.
Hold on tightly to the book of Allah, and act according to
it. The second thing is my Ahle Bayt, think of me while
dealing with them, and my leniency is their leniency. Be
kind and compassionate towards them. 2
3rd Hadith
Imam Daylami in his Musnad al-Firdaws, ash-Shirazi in his
Fawaid, and Ibn an-Najjar have narrated that the Beloved
Prophet B said, Teach your children three traits; love for
your Prophet B, love of your Prophet's B family, and the
recitation of the Qur'an.
4th Hadith
Tirmidhi, Hakim, Tabarani, and Dhahabi have narrated
that the Messenger of Allah B said,
from Ibn Abbas
Love Allah by what He provides of His bounty, love me
because of your love for Allah, and love my family (Ahle
Bayt) because of your love for me.
5th Hadith
As reported by Tabarani in al-Kabir, Bayhaqi, and others
on the authority of Abd ar Rahman ibn Abi Layla on the
authority of his father that Rasulullah B said,

Sahih Muslim Vol. 6, #3786. This is a mutawatr hadith with over 30


rigorously authentic chains.

"None of you [truly] believes until I am more beloved to
him than himself, my household is more beloved to him
than his own, my close relatives ('itrah) are more beloved to
him than his and my very person is more beloved to him
than his own." 3
6th Hadith
Abu ash-Shaykh narrates from Imam Ali C that the
Beloved Prophet B said, What is it with men who hurt me
[by hurting] my household? I swear by Allah who is the
Master of My Life, one will not have [true] belief until he
loves me, and he cannot love me until he loves my
offspring.
7th Hadith
Bukhari narrates from Imam Ali C and as-Suyuti in adDurr al-manthur and Ibn an Najjar narrate from Imam alHussain
that Rasulullah B said, Everything has a
foundation, and the foundation of Islam is love for the
Companions of the Messenger of Allah B and love for his
family.
8th Hadith
Imam Bukhari in his Sahih narrates that Abu Bakr Siddiq
said,
"By the One in whose hands is my life, the Prophet's B
relatives are more beloved to me than my own relatives."
Bayhaqi said, As they attained such a station, they deserve to be
loved by all Muslims, and the Muslims can draw closer to Allah
through loving them for when Allah is pleased with someone He loves
them, and it is obligatory for the slave to love those his Master loves.

9th Hadith
Imam Ali ibn Hussain

narrates from his father Imam al-

that Imam Ali
said, The Beloved Prophet
took Imam al-Hasan
and Imam al-Hussain
by the
hand and said, Whoever loves me and loves these two and
their father and mother will have the same degree as me on
the Day of Rising. 4
10th Hadith
Ath-Thabi5 in is tafsir narrates from Jabir ibn Abdullah
and al-Qurtubi in his tafsir narrate that Rasulullah B said,
Whoever dies loving the household of Muhammad dies a
Shaheed (martyr), and whoever dies hating the household
of Muhammad will not smell the fragrance of Paradise.
11th Hadith
Hakim in his book Mustadrak has narrated from Hadrat
Abu Hurairah
that the Beloved Prophet B said, O
believers! The best among you is the one who is best
towards my Ahle Bayt.
12th Hadith
Tabarani and ibn Hajar al-Haythami narrate from Hadrat
that the final words Rasulullaah B
Abdullaah bin Umar
spoke were: "Be my successors over the members of my
household (treat them well and care for them as I have been
doing)."

13th Hadith
Imam Bukhari in his Sahih has narrated from Abu Bakr
Siddiq
that the Holy Prophet B said, Look for Prophet
Muhammad B among his Ahle Bayt, his rights lie with the
Ahle Bayt; hence, respect them and never harm them.
14th Hadith
Ibn Adi, Daylami, and Abu Nuaym have narrated from
Imam Ali C that the Messenger of Allah B said, The
most firm of you on the Siraat 6 will be those who most
dearly love my family and my companions.
15th Hadith
Tabarani in his al-Kabir narrates from Ibn Abbas
that
the Beloved Prophet B said, A slaves feet will not move
on the Day of Rising until he is asked about four matters: 1.
his life and how he brought it to an end; 2. his youth and
for what he wore it out; 3. his wealth and on what he spent
it and from where he earned it; 4. and about love for us, the
Ahle Bayt. 7

A bridge over the fire of Hell which people must cross to enter
Heaven.

16th Hadith
Ibn Asakir has narrated from Imam Ali C and Khateeb
from Hadrat Uthman bin Afwan
that the Holy Prophet
B said, Whoever helps someone from my Ahle Bayt, I
will suffice him on the Day of Rising. 8
17th Hadith
Imam Daylami, Tabari, Haythami, Asqalani, as-Suyuti and
Hindi have narrated from Imam Ali C that the Messenger
of Allah B said, I will Intercede for four kinds of people:
(1) Those who loved and respected my progeny.
(2) Those who fulfilled their needs and solved their
problems.
(3) Those who helped them in difficulties and in times of
needs.
(4) Those who maintained their respect and friendship by
words and by heart.
18th Hadith
Imam Daylami has narrated that the Holy Prophet B said,
Anyone who desires to get close to me and wants me to
intercede on the Day of Judgment, then he needs to get
attached to the Ahle Bayt and involve them in all
happiness.

19th Hadith
Hakim in his Mustadrak has narrated from Hadrat Abu
Dharr Ghaffari
and Tabarani, Jabbar and Abu Nayeem
in their Musnad have narrated from Hadrat Abdullah bin
Abbas that the Holy Prophet B said,
The example of my Ahle Bayt within you is the example
of the Ark of Noah within the nation of Noah; whoever
boarded it was saved, and whoever stayed behind was
destroyed.
20th Hadith
Abu Bakr ibn Shayba in his book Musannif, Tabarani in
Muajjam, and Abul Ali Mosli in his Musnad have narrated
, and Abu Yala in his
from Hadrat Salma Bin Aku
Musnad has narrated from Salamah ibn al-Akwa
that
the Beloved Prophet B said, Verily, the stars act as a
guidance [security] for the people of the sky and my Ahle
Bayt is a guidance [security] for my Ummah. 9
21st Hadith
Imam Ahmad, Tirmidhi, Nisai, Ibn Maja, Ibn Haban and
Hakim have narrated from Hadrat Abu Hurairah
that the
Holy Prophet B said, Whoever is at war with my Ahle
Bayt, I will be at war with them, and whoever keeps my
Ahle Bayt as friends, I will be friendly with them.

Sufyan ibn Uyaynah would be happy when a child of the Ahle Bayt
was born and would express grief when someone of the Ahle Bayt
passed away. When asked about this he said, One safety [security]
goes and another arrives. They are the safety of the people of the Earth
from the Fire. [Durr an-nathar, Vol. 1, pg. 403]

22nd Hadith
Ibn Mandah and Mulla in their Seerah have narrated from
Hadrat Abu Hurairah
that the Messenger of Allah B
said, O People! Beware if you hurt my relatives, verily
you hurt me, and anyone who hurts me, hurts Allah.
23rd Hadith
Imam as-Suyuti, Ahmad bin Hanbal, and Tabari narrate
that Rasulullah B said,
"Whoever holds hatred against us, the 'People of the
House,' is a hypocrite.
24th Hadith
Tabarani has narrated from Hadrat Umar bin Khattab
and Sayyidah Fatimah A that the Holy Prophet B said,
The sons of every mother are recognized by the relation
with their respective fathers except the sons of Sayyidah
Fatimah A. For surely they shall be related to me. I am
their father.
25th Hadith
Tabarani in his book Muajjam has narrated from Hadrat
Abdullah Bin Umar
that the Beloved Prophet B said,
On the Day of Judgment, the first one for whom I will
intercede will be my Ahle Bayt, after that it will be
Quraysh followed by the Ansar, and after that I will
intercede for each and every person of Yemen who
embraced Islam and followed me. After this I will intercede
among the non-Arab group, the group which is better than
the latter.

26th Hadith
Dar Qutni and Bahiqqi have narrated from Hadrat Umar
bin Khattab
that the Holy Messenger of Allah B said,
On the Day of Judgment all relationship and kinship will
be severed, but my relationship and kinship will not be
severed.
27th Hadith
Tabarani and Hakim have narrated from Abdullah Bin Abi
Aufi
that the Holy Messenger of Allah B said, I
requested my lord that whoever is related to my household
through marriage, must enter paradise through my relation;
hence, Allah accepted my prayer. 10
28th Hadith
Ibn Hajar al Haythami in his Al-Sawa'iq al-Muhriqah
relates that Rasulullah B said, Do not recite an incomplete
durood (salawat) upon me and when he was asked, What
is an incomplete durood? he explained That you say O
Allah send durood upon Muhammad and then stop. Rather
you should say O Allah send durood upon Muhammad and
the family of Muhammad Allahumma Salle Ala
Muhammad Wa Ala Aali (family of) Muhammad.
29th Hadith
Daylami and Dar Qutni (with slightly different wording)
have narrated that the Beloved Messenger of Allah B has

said, No prayer is approved until one does not send
durood upon me and my Aal (family).
30th Hadith
Daylami in his Firdaws Aala has narrated from Imran bin
Haseen that the Messenger of Allah B said, I supplicated
to my Lord that nobody from my Ahle Bayt should enter
Hell, Allah answered my prayers.
31st Hadith
Tabarani in his book Mujam al-awsat11 and Abu ashShaykh, has narrated from Abu Saeed Khudri , that the
Holy Prophet B said,
There are three things sacred to Allah, anyone who
safeguards it Allah will protect both his Deen and Dunya;
and anyone who doesnt safeguard it Allah will not protect
his Deen and Dunya. I [Abu Saeed Khudri ] then asked
him, Rasulullah B what are the three sanctities? The
Beloved Prophet B replied, The sanctity of Islam, my
Sanctity and the sanctity of my household.
32nd Hadith
Tabarani in his Muajjam Kabeer has narrated from Ibn
Abbas that the Messenger of Allah B said to his
beloved Fatimah A, Truly you and your sons will be
immune from Divine chastisement.

33rd Hadith
Imam Daylami in his Musnad al-Firdaws has narrated from
Hadrat Abu Saeed al-Khudri
that the Beloved Prophet
B said, My Ahle Bayt and the Ansar are my intimates
[confidents and close ones] and the repository of my
secrets. So accept from the one of them who does good and
overlook [the wrong doing of] the one who does bad. 12
34th Hadith
that the
Daylami has narrated from Abu Saeed Khudri
Beloved Prophet B said, Allah will severely punish that
person who harms my Ahle Bayt.
35th Hadith
Abu Nuaym and Ibn Asakir have narrated from Imam Ali
C that the Holy Prophet B said, Whoever hurts [even] a
single strand hair of mine [i.e. from my family and
progeny] , in reality, has hurt me. And whoever hurts me
has hurt Allah, so may the curse of Allah be upon him
according to the volume of the heavens and the volume of
the earth.
36th Hadith
Imam Daylami has narrated that the Beloved Prophet B
said, Whoever holds Allah as his friend and me as his
friend, then he will hold my companions and my family as
his friend.

37th Hadith
Mulla in his Seerah has narrated that the Holy Messenger
of Allah B said, Only he will keep my Ahle Bayt as his
friend, one who is a true believer and the righteous one, and
only a hypocrite and an atrocious person will hold enmity
against my Ahle Bayt.
38th Hadith
Hakim and Ibn Haban through Sahih tradition have
narrated Hadrat Abu Saeed Khudri
that the Holy
Prophet B said, I swear by Allah in whose Hands is My
Life, anyone who keeps enmity against Me and my Ahle
Bayt, Allah will put him in the Hell Fire.
39th Hadith
Tabarani and al-Hakim narrate from Ibn Abbas that the
Beloved Prophet B said, O Children of Abdul Muttalib, I
asked Allah three things for you: 1. that He keeps your
hearts steadfast (upon Islam); 2. that He teaches the Deen
to your ignorant and illiterate and guides your astray, and 3.
that He make you kind, generous and affectionate to one
another. So if a man prays, standing between the Rukn and
Maqaam, and fasts but dies with malice for the Household
of Muhammad, he has entered Hell. 13
40th Hadith
Tabarani in Kitab ul Dua, Haakim, and Bayhaqi in Shobul
Imaan has narrated from Bibi Aisha Siddiqah
that the

Holy Messenger of Allah B said, There are 6 men Allah
has reproached and each and every Mustajab-ud-dawat
Prophet (whose every prayer is answered) has reproached
or cursed:
1. Anyone who does injustice to the book of Allah.
2. Does not believe in the destiny of Allah.
3. Dominates my Ummah even though he is a tyrant
and atrocious.
4. Anything that has been prohibited (made haraam)
by Allah, calls it Halaal.
5. Considering any such thing as Halaal that has been
confirmed has Haraam by Allah, such as harming
and hurting the Ahle Bayt.
6. Destroying my Sunnah
41st Hadith
Hakim has narrated from Hadrat Anas that the
Messenger of Allah B said, My Lord has promised me in
the favor of my Ahle Bayt, whoever amongst them agrees
with the Tawheed and Risala, will not be punished. 14
42nd Hadith
Imam Fakhrudin ar-Razi in his tafsir narrates that the
Beloved Prophet B said,
He who dies with love of the family of Muhammad is a
Martyr.
And behold! He who dies with love of the family of

Muhammad is forgiven.
And more! The one who dies with love of the family of
Muhammad dies repented.
Lo! He who dies with love of the family of Muhammad
dies as a believer with a complete belief.
And no doubt! The one who dies with love of the family of
Muhammad, the angel of death gives him the glad tidings
of Paradise, and so do the two angels who question him
(Munkar & Nakeer).
And verily! He who dies with love of the family of
Muhammad, will be led toward Paradise as a bride is led to
the house of her husband.
Behold! And he who dies with love of the family of
Muhammad, for him there will open two gates in his grave
toward Paradise.
Lo! And the one who dies with love of the family of
Muhammad, Allah will make his grave a sacred place of
visit for the angels of mercy.
And verily! He who dies with love of the family of
Muhammad, has died on the Sunnah.
And no doubt! The one who dies with the hate of the family
of Muhammad, will arrive on the Day of Judgment while it
is printed on his forehead that he is desperate from the
Mercy of Allah.
Behold! He who dies with the hate of the family of
Muhammad, has died an unbeliever.
And verily! He who dies with the hate of the family of
Muhammad, will never smell the fragrance of Paradise. 15
