Eucharistic Procession

The Solemn Feast of Corpus Christi

Sunday, June 6
Join us Sunday, June 6, after our Noon Mass, for our Eucha-
ristic Procession throughout our grounds. Bring your family
and friends. Come out and share the Good News about
Christs Real Presence in the Eucharist.

An important ritual of the Feast of Corpus Christi is that of

the Procession. For this event, the entire parish is invited to
gather. The Procession is comprised of clergy, special minis-
tries, groups, and families. In the Procession, the Holy Eucharist is itself transported in a processional Monstrance,
carried by the priest. The Monstrance is further protected by an embroidered silk canopy held by four posts,
borne by parishioners. Publicly proclaiming and reaffirming their devotion to the Holy Eucharist, the entire con-
gregation walks around the church and its grounds to the sound of voices singing sacred hymns and praying the
Rosary. The Procession then walks and sings its way to the first of the altars. There, the Blessed Sacrament rests
while the assembled faithful pray and sing in adoration of the Holy Eucharist. The procession then continues on
in the same manner to the other altars until the whole procession is complete.

Celebration of the Eucharist

Monday, May 31; 8:30am

We ask for blessings on all those who have

served their country in the armed forces.
We ask for healing for the veterans
who have been wounded, in body and soul,
in conflicts around the globe.

We pray especially for the young men and women,

in the thousands, who are coming home from Iraq
with injured bodies and traumatized spirits.
Bring solace to them, O Lord;
may we pray for them when they cannot pray.

We ask for, echoing John Paul II, an end to wars

and the dawning of a new era of peace,
As a way to honor all the veterans of past wars.

Have mercy on all our veterans.

Bring peace to their hearts and peace
to the regions they fought in.

Bless all the soldiers who served

in non-combative posts;
May their calling to service continue
in their lives in many positive ways.

Give us all the creative vision to see a world which,

grown weary with fighting,
Moves to affirming the life of every human being
and so moves beyond war.

Hear our prayer, O Prince of Peace,

hear our prayer!

Reflections from the Pastor

We are all connected in some way as brothers and sisters in
Christ, by how generous we are in giving ourselves to others. We
do this through service and prayer. Through self-sacrificing love,
we as the body of Christ protect and direct each other, especially
our brothers and sisters in the womb, the elderly and the dy-
ing. Let us stand up for Life, pray for life and be Life-giving in our
actions. Please come by on Thursdays , Adoration of the Blessed
Sacrament at Christ the King, Lombard and Saturday morning

Womans choice services of Lombard, a Catholic support center
All praise the Father, the Son, for expected mothers. We pray with the teens of the Apostles for
Life, Lombard in their study, prayer and action for the cause of
and Holy Spirit Life. Gods blessings

Academy Update

The staff would like to thank all the parents for their lovely gifts and the wonderful luncheon! We appreciate the kind
gesture and warm thoughts of appreciation ! Thank you again for all your support during the school year. We have been
able to provide a successful, faith-filled environment. This is because of the hard work of our teachers and with the help
from our parents that are committed to Catholic education. Thank you for allowing our teachers to be part of your childs
life!

Please give our office a call to sign up and help with the White Elephant Sale. Please remember to mark your calendars
for the Corpus Christi Mass at noon on June 6th. Our Academy will have an altar as part of the rosary procession after
that Mass. Mrs. Gergen has kindly offered to represent the Academy families and will read at our altar. Please come
with your child and be part of that mass and procession. I believe that after Mrs. Gergen does the reading our students
will recite the Lord is Good to Me prayer. We hope to see you there!

Returning families should have received a parent packet with information in regard to next year. Please contact the of-
fice if you have not received your parent packet.

Thank you to some very important council members: Karen Corcoran, Gina
Swan, and Mrs. Gergen! You have done a great job this year! Words can-
not express how thankful we are for your continuous support!

Have a safe and wonderful summer! God Bless!

initiative has been lower than expected, but we would like
to extend a heartfelt thanks to the approximately 250
families who have returned their commitment card. If you
have not returned a commitment card, you can do so in
the next week or two, as we will turn our efforts toward
finalizing the budget for the next fiscal year. Your gener-
osity is always appreciated.
