Evaluation

For our media work we were set the task of having a character walk into
a room and sit down whilst using a various range of camera shots such
as shot reverse shot, match on action and use the 180 degree rule. At
first my group and I had the idea of a policeman walking into a room with
a witness and interrogating them and we had planned a few shots to use
such as a high angle shot looking down on them both. However the idea
of the interrogation was adapted as it would be hard to find a location to
film so we decided to have a house location and two
policemen/detectives turn up at a womans house.
This meant we had to incorporate some sort of conversation between
the characters in the scene while using the 180 degree rule. We also
made the detective characters dress in a formal manner so it looks as if
they are on duty. The lighting in the conversation scene is also dark to
create a gloomy mood and make it seem like a sinister environment. A
week prior to the filming we practiced a few shots such as the shot
reverse shot and some close ups shots which helped as we knew what
worked when it came to the real task. We ended up using a variety of
shots such as shot reverse shot, close ups, tracking shots, match on
action and the 180 degree rule which helped our group to achieve the
task.
Overall we achieved a final video which included everything that the task
asked such as two characters sat down in a room, a match on action
shot and a wide range of camera angles.
