Individual Critique

Individual Critique.
Overview.
The lesson that was taught by my group and I were the transplanting of seedlings (lettuce) the
subject area that we was focused on is Agri-Science. The strategy employed to teach the lesson
was the demonstration method and the students were guided individually as well as a class to
perform the activities during the lesson.
Reflection of lesson.
I believed that the lesson when very smoothly in the practical aspect. The students clearly
understand their objectives and the task was susseccfully completed. The members of the group
cooperated well during the lesson planning process and during the lesson. I thought that the topic
we had chosen suited the demonstration method. We were very organized in the aspect of setting
up the resources that was need.
I believe that the set induction captured student's attention but could have been of more
relevance to the topic. Student's work space were already set up decreasing time wasted from
teaching the topic. From my observation students had sufficient work space which resulted in no
conflict between students during the lesson.
One student were having some difficulties with placing her seedling into the hole. I then
processed to assist the students by asking her what was the problem she was facing and replaced
her seedling upon realizing that what was the problem. The student receive individual attention
and tried again in which she succeed in placing the seedling in the hole. Resources such as
gloves, soil, seedlings were enough to cater for the class. The cups that were used to transplant
the seedlings were too small. A larger size would have been able to accommodate the finish
product of the lettuce.

Individual Critique

The checklist was not used correctly and was noted to be incorporated during the lesson as
formative assignment. Students should have been engaged in a period of reflect on their prior
knowledge to form a link between the lessons. Together with the handouts that contained the
instruction, a charts could have be made for each step so important points can be drawn to their
attention. The chats would have been able to teacher to keep track of each step and draw
reference when needed. Make sure that time is allocated during the lesson so the checklist can be
filled out. This would result in correct data being gathered about the topic, it would also indicate
to the teacher of the areas that students are having difficulties with.
In conclusion if I were to teach this topic over I would have ensured that the resources would
have been suitable for not only the starting the beginning product of the seedlings but the ending
product as well, example the cups would be a bigger size. I would also have incorporated charts
as well as the instruction sheets and to conduct the formative assignment using the checklist.
