OBJECTIVES:
The objectives of education and educational
programme like ant activity directed by the expectation
of certain outcomes. The chief activity of education is
to change the individual in some way to add the
knowledge, the process to enable them to perform and
develop certain understanding and approaches. The
statement of this accepted or desired outcomes are
usually called their educational aims of objectives. Here
the objectives are:
1. To oversee and discuss the philosophical function
of educational curriculum.
2. To explain different philosophy of education.
3. To create awareness about philosophy with its
branches.
4. To introduce basic principle of various educational
philosophy
DEFINITIONS OF EDUCATION
Education is the process of facilitating learning, or
the acquisition of knowledge, skills, values, beliefs
and habits. Educational method includes
storytelling, discussion, teaching, training and
directed research. Education frequently takes place
under guidance of educators, but learners may also
educate themselves.
Etymologically the word Education has been
derived from two Latin wordsE and Duco. E
means Out of and Duco means I lead. So
Education implies that out of native potentialities I
can lead or develop. Education has derived from
another three Latin words; they are Educere,
Educare and Educatum. Here Educere means
to develop, to improve or to enhance, Educare
means to nourish, to bring up and Educatum
means the act of teaching or training.
Education is a dynamic and lifelong process. It
begins at the birth and continues throughout our
life. It includes all the knowledge and experiences
we acquire at home, school, playground, society
etc. it helps in modification of behaviour, it is an
child.
CURRICULUM
The curriculum is an integral part of the school system.
It facilitates a teacher to transfer his thoughts to the
student. The word curriculum is derived from the
Latin word currere which means to run. Thus
curriculum means a course to be run for reaching a
certain goal or destination. In this sense, education
is considered as race, with his aim as the goal, the
curriculum as the course, leading to that goal. In the
