What well learn
Today well scrutinize the controversial reign and untimely death of King Charles I of
England. To do that, well engage in a mock trial of the king, looking at why he conflicted
with Parliament, how those disagreements came to a head, and whether he was ultimately
right to act the way he did.

Why this matters


Its one thing to know the facts. Its another to be able to analyze and scrutinize key people
and events in history. This exercise will give us a chance to engage with the subject of King
Charles I in a deeper, more productive way.
