Position Overview
The Assistant Principal for Instructional Innovation and Activities serves as an instructional,
technological, and cultural leader, providing leadership, supervision and support to staff
members and the school community in the areas of instruction, instructional technology, student
activities and school culture. The APIA is responsible for collaborating with students, teachers,
curriculum leaders and the administrative team to foster and support team goals, vision and
instructional initiatives. The APIA maintains strong ties to students, faculty, and the community
both in the school day and beyond.

Continue to develop relationships with all stakeholders, listening and learning as much
as possible
Begin collecting data from Classes of 2019, 2020 (SEL, Involvement, Student Interests)
6 Months
Visit with classrooms and teachers to learn about our students, teachers and classes
Begin analyzing data collected and action planning with PPS, LancerWay Team, Student
Services and academic departments
Continue tracking and monitoring student growth and engagement in academics and
extra-curriculars
12 Months
Meet with partner schools, develop action plans and continue to grow common best
practices and articulation in areas of instructional technology
Set in place several aspects of student voice including: blogs, video teams and social
media
Implement lesson coaching with videos and instructional technology teaching and
learning opportunities
Develop plans for Freshmen Mentoring Program as well as Transfer Student Orientation
