Part 1: Planning
1. Rationale: Why is this lesson relevant at this time with these students?
Last lesson with me with the students most likely. Would have been a good idea to begin the practicum with a lesson like
this but it still has its applications now. Would have liked to have used the computers to practice typing but didnt have the
time or resources to do properly. This lesson will have them explore and describe themselves while practicing with the use
of technology.
2. How is this connected to the Big Ideas from the Draft Curriculum?
- Knowing what we enjoy doing and knowing about our opportunities to participate in those activities helps us develop an
active lifestyle.
- Understanding ourselves and the various aspects of health helps us develop a balanced lifestyle.
- Personal choices and social and environmental factors influence our health and well-being.
3. Competencies:
Communication
Students will listen, ask questions, use
the internet/read and type.
Positive Personal & Cultural
Identity
This activity will hopefully build
positive personal identity.
Creative Thinking
Personal Awareness and
Responsibility
Students will need to be respectful of
other students choices.
Critical Thinking
Students will have to think critically
about themselves and things they like.
Social Responsibility
Students will need to be cognizant of
others learning/working.

Part 3: Reflection
How did the learning go? How do you know what to teach next? In what ways are the learners informing you
about next steps?
In what ways did you experience adaptive or reflexive teaching practices what changed during the actual
instruction and learning? How would you apply your learning to the next lesson?
What worked and what did not and why? What could you do differently?
