The first material deals with the box impacting with the wall of structural steel.
The material curve for structural steel were imported from the book Atlas of
Stress and Strain
Wall: Structural Steel (A572)
The structural steel curve was traced in CREO and the several points on the plot
was approximated. From the same, scaling was done and the stress vs strain curve
value was evaluated. I have enclosed the
calculation. X1 vs Y1 gives strain vs stress curve for structural steel A572 post
regression.
In LS-DYNA solver, we initially open the PRE-POST solver to create the model.
Geometry tool: The solid box geometry was created and the block was
created per the dimension. Create Box << Coordinate System<<Box
Mesh -Automesher was used with a mesh of 8 and a mesh was created.
Creation of section:
- Section ID of the two parts are created with the thickness as per the given
dimension.
Contact: An automatic surface to surface contact is assigned between the
master and the slave.
Boundary It is defined in the SFC and the nodal points of the wall are fixed
so that it is a standing body for collision.
Initial The velocity is assigned for the nodes of the box for impact. The
velocity of 13.88 miles/ms is given for all the cases.
MAT- The different materials used in the context are assigned through the
materials which we will discuss in each case.
CASE-01
The first case deals with the material aluminum in the box and structural
steel in the wall.
) are as follows:
The stress vs strain plots and the regressed points for structural steel (A572)
has been traced out already.
The von misses stress per frame can be traced by the impact with steel for
the box. The structural steel wall is rigid and has not effect while the box
undergoes stress changes,
The resultant plastic strain changes can also be seen in the following snaps:
Velocity
Accelration
Both the materials are defined and they are imported to the structures shown
below.
In this simulation , I have used Mooney -Rivlin rubber with 5 parameters. The
sample for 5 parameters are enclosed below(Using uniaxial test data from Ansys
