Procedure
Good morning 4th graders!!! Today we are going to look at some life
requirements of plants and animals but we are going to mainly focus on
animals because we went over plant requirements in second grade.
Wait I might not have had everyone in second grade so lets review.
Plants need What to survive ( write on board)
plants need air, water, light , and and those three things help them make
food through the process of photosynthesis . Plants use food as a
source of energy and as a source for growth and repair. (3min)
Now animals are just about the same. They need air, food and water to
survive. Animals use the food as a source of energy and as a source for
growth and repair. (2min)
So now that we know what animals and plants need for survival. Lets
dive into what characteristics some animals have to help them survive.
Let's name some good characteristics to have for survival. Sharp
teeth size, claws, size, quick they are, if they can fly or swim etc (4min)
How about if they were the same species quickness, old vs young,
The teacher will use the class discussions and personal observations to
assess learners understanding of each objective. The teacher will also
evaluate the independent worksheet for competency and completion.
