A Agora

Serbska 5a
Agora is an artistically talented dwarf. He paints, sings, sculpts and most of
all moulds dwarves from clay. No wonder he decided to stay near the
Agora Cultural Centre. He holds the Centres logo and carefully keeps
track, what interesting events are in the pipeline? A vernissage, or maybe a
rock concert?

B Tooth-Dwarf
Krakowska 26
There was a terrifying rumor in the local dwarf community. Someone very
scary appeared, and the serenity of the land was all gone. It wasnt a
bandit, or a thief, no. It was a dwarf-dentist, carrying huge pliers and even
bigger tooth in them. But despite the initial fear, his arrival was a change for
good for many of the tiny citizens, especially for those who love sweets.

C Dwarfette
Pisudskiego 105, PKP Main Station
Dwarves are plenty here in Wrocaw, but not many Dwarf Ladies among
them. There is hope though, as a new female dwarf appeared, for instance,
at the second platform of our recently renovated railway Main Station.
Dwarfette is really busy, setting the trains off onto their routes. What kind of
trains? Our, Human ones, or some special dwarf trains perhaps? We may
only guess

D Oncky Germaz
ul. Bujwida 44

A dwarf with charitable background. The figurine was

designed by Ms Beata Zwoleska Hood, an author of many other
Wrocaws dwarves. She had help of the little patients from the Children
Marrow Transplant, Oncology and Haematology Clinic at Wrocaw Medical
University. Oncky holds a heart symbol of life in one of his hands. Since
the very beginning it was clear that Oncky is going to be auctioned. The
auction was intended to raise funds for a new building of the Clinic. Now the
highest bidder, Automobile House Germaz, has become the lucky owner of
Oncky. So has Oncky found his new home!

E Oawska Street Polers

ul. Oawska
It is thanks to the Columnists that the Lower Silesian dwarf community
knows where and when to help somebody or what matters need urgent
intervention of dwarves. First overground dwarves appeared in the city in

2006. Each of them weighs 6 to 8 kilograms. They were designed by an

Academy of Fine Arts graduate Micha Osuch. You may meet some of them
when strolling down Oawska Street. Besides observing and alarming about
danger, they mostly play. Favourite games of theirs are speed-climbing and
counting, for instance, how many women in hats passed by during an hour.

F widnicka Street Polers

widnicka
Rumour has it, that dwarves decided one day to climb the street lamps out
of pure curiosity. They wanted to check for themselves how does the world
look like when you look from up high. Delighted by the view they stayed and
started to inform their fellows of all the interesting stuff they noticed. There
would have been loads of such dwarves if not for the common fear of
heights, suffered by most of the Little Ones. Fortunately, how would
Humans feel about craning their necks constantly while looking for them.
Here are some photos of the overground dwarves.

G Schoolboy
ul. Mennicza 21/23
Schoolboy decided to settle in a school, obviously. As any pupil, he cannot
wait for the end of each lesson, so he focuses on the traditional school bell
making sure that all students get their break after 45 minutes sharp. He will
sometimes do a favour for the kids and shorten the lessons by a minute or
two, but thats a secret!

H Odra Washer
bulwar Wostowica
Washer has once already been chosen for the Dwarf of the Week column,
still his latest adventures made our team to once again recall this particular
and unusual dwarf. His abduction, search campaign and the final rescue is
a ready script for an action movie. Not the first one in Washers life. He
belongs to the group of first dwarves that revealed themselves right after
Papa Dwarf did so. Apparently his life story is full of adventures and
incredible journeys. He personally does not enjoy talking about that. That
and his unquestionable bravery. Before the last abduction Washers life was
full of extraordinary events. He is a hero not only for the city dwarves, but
also for many Humans who know the story from the time of the flood.
Legend says that Washer was the first to notice the High Water. When he
noticed the water levels rising he filled his cap with sand and started the
heroic defence of Ostrw Tumski against the waves. Washer doesnt like to
listen about his heroism. He would rather think about his daily duties. After
all, its his achievement that the caps and hats of all city dwarves remain as
red as before for all these years. So let all those who walk along
Wostowica Boulevard that here they can see the silent hero of Wrocaw.

I Recycler
ul. widnicka 31

Recycler appeared by widnicka Street on the stone obelisk next to

Monopol Hotel. This unusual dwarf who came to us from the Green Forest
is supposed to remind us Big Humans about how important the natural
environment is and how to care about it. Our friend couldnt just stand and
watch the trees disappearing from the forest. H decided to act, as
commitment is the nature of all dwarves. Instead of engaging into
spectacular initiatives of tying himself to tries or threatening lumberjacks, he
decided to work together with humans on the best possible methods of
recycling the most wooden of all products paper. The whole story about
Recycler may be found >HERE<

J Slopper, Bubbler, Rescuer and Helper

Teatralna 10/12, pool no. 1
When you visit the Wrocaw Spa Centre, don't forget to have a look at these
four extraordinary swimmers. They specialise in some swimming disciplines
and practice at the Spa Centre. Slopper and Bubbler prefer to dive, the
other two are the best lifeguards a swimming pool can have. Swimmers can
feel safe under their vigilant eyes.

K Wholesale Brothers, Shopper, Saler and Pricecutter

ul. Swobodna, EPI market
There is another group of dwarves that you should meet. They sit near the
EPI store on Swobodna Street. Wholesale Brothers, Shopper, Saler and
Price-cutter are members of the Dwarf Merchant Guild. The organization
was established centuries ago based on the example of the historic Hanza.
As it seems, dwarves are better merchants, since the Hanza no longer
exists and the dwarf guild is all well

L Merchant
ul. Komandorska 66
If youre looking for an expert in trade and bargaining, I am proud to
introduce Merchant. Before he settled in Wrocaw a couple months back, he
led a life of a travelling trader. It seems, that everyone finally finds the
perfect place to live.
Merchant lives by the shopping mall on Komandorska Street. He doesnt
trade as much as he used to. He offers advice to the Merchant Guild,
whose representatives travel all around the globe and bring various exotic
products to the Dwarf City.
He is also a member of the special economic advisory team by the Dwarf
Committee. It mostly thanks to him that dwarves neednt worry about the
economic crisis.

What is he doing by the shopping mall then? As he says he likes to

observe the commercial life of our city and teach some bargaining
techniques to younger traders. Besides that, he uses the opportunity to
pursue his private initiative of promoting the strongest currency in the world
the Dwarf Thaler. He secretly believes that Wrocaw will introduce the
Thaler instead of some Euro.

M Bardie
ul. Jacka Kaczmarskiego
His name refers to an extraordinary person Jacek Kaczmarski, on who's
street Bardie is usually to be found. There are many amazing stories and
legends related to the life of the famous Solidarity bard. It's not known for
sure, whether our little musician had any influence on the artist. All we know
is that he travelled around Europe. He fancied Spain the most, where the
tune to Mury could have been born.

N Alpinists
ul. Strzegomska 56
It's no mystery, that Wrocaw is flat as a pancake. And that is maybe why
mountains are so popular among its citizens, also the tiny ones. Not only
hiking trips are popular round here, it is a place of birth for numerous
mountaineers as well. No wonder then, that amidst local dwarves we can
find some that have climbed the tallest mountains. They are highly admired
for their skills and for saving lives of the big people many times before.

O Booklover
Rynek 58
The most well-read of the dwarves. Booklover's wide knowledge, wisdom
and tact made him very respected among citys dwarves. Some say that he
spent his youth travelling around the world, meeting famous writers,
philosophers and composers. He is fluent in hundreds of languages and
dwarfish dialects, to many even for him to count. Though he spends most of
his time reading books, he sometimes drops in for an evening tea with a
drop of rum with Highbrow.

P Splasherbelly and Wetheeler

Borowska 99
They are the dwellers of the Wrocaw Aquapark. During the day they cheer
people up relaxing in the water. But in the night, they rule one of the
greatest attractions of the Lower Silesia. As it was said before, they are
both famous multi-medalists of the dwarf Olympics. Unfortunately, they are
not eager to speak about these past achievements. They are too humble to
boast, that they have won a few dozen golden discs. It is worth mentioning
though, that the competitions in which Splasherbelly and Wetheeler are
famous of include: speed water splashing, team bubble making and basin
races. This of course doesn't mean, that they don't have any real swimming

skills. They've come to live in the Aquapark to promote water activities and
to guard dwarves who come in the night to have some fun too. Oh yes.
When the night falls, the Aquapark is seized by the citys' tiny citizens. They
have a part of the park hidden under the hill of gen. Anders, and big people
can only dream about seeing it. We can only imagine what amazing things
lie in the dwarf Aquapark.

Q Printer
ul. Osobowicka 89
This Little Fellow settled in front of the KEA printing house. He operates a
very old-fashioned printing press. His main task is tending to the needs of
Dwarf City for printed materials. He does however find some time to provide
professional help to the Big Humans.

R Ringer
Rynek 35
Ringer began his career as the Pigeon-fanciers assistant, helping with
dwarf mail. Everything changed when he started to notice Humans
speaking to some machine, shaped like a banana. He developed a
telephone of a more dwarf size. Now he tries to keep up with the technology
and business of telephones, so he resides close to the office of Dialog on
the Market Square.

S Educator
ul. Krakowska 56-62
Educator is a dwarf that keeps the knowledge of previous generations alive
among the Little Ones. This kind of wisdom is what they value the most, so
these among them who work to preserve it are well-respected. You can
meet him on Krakowska Street.

T Freudie
ul. Dawida 1/3
Freudie is the most experienced and talented psychotherapist. Many
dwarves wait for an appointment at his practice right next to the University
Institute of Psychology on Dawida Street. Many Big Humans would
probably like to attend such an expert but he does not agree to treat people.

U Fuger
ul. Fabryczna 29/31
Do you know Jacob Fugger, a famous 16th century financier? And did you
know that there is a dwarf called Fuger, who lives in the Wrocaw School of
Banking? It is a little curious, who took the name after whom Fugger was
a philanthropist, so much indicates an influence of a dwarf! Today, dwarf
Fuger keeps an eye on students at the Banking School.

V Hoser
ul. Borowska 138
Everyone knows how difficult it is to be a firefighter in a city. Can you
imagine how extremely dangerous it is to be one in the Dwarf City?

Recently a dwarf came to Wrocaw to initiate a cooperation between the

Dwarf Fire Department and that of the Big Humans. He settled in front of
the local fire station.

W Gastronomer (stolen)
ul. Kamienna 86
Gastronomer moved into the Gastronomical School Complex on Kamienna
Street. He is definitely going to become a great chef. For now he helps the
pupils to remember how enjoyable learning is.

X Geologist
ul. Cybulskiego 30-34
This is an expert on the field which you would expect dwarves to know well.
Geologist has an impressive CV. He was involved in all big mining projects
in the neighbourhood. After such a fruitful career he decided to retire. He
chose a spot in front of the Institute of Geological Sciences on Cybulskiego
Street.

Y Busker and Music-lover

ul. Oawska 11
Busker and Music-lover are one peculiar pair of dwarves. They settled on
Oawska Street, in front of a flower shop. They both consider themselves
talented in music, so they entertain the passer-by with some dwarf music.
Shame that they in fact dont have any talent

Z Pigeon-keeper
rynek Ratusz 2
Pigeon-fancier has a job that was once highly esteemed by the Little Ones.
Although dwarves no longer fly on the backs of pigeons, he still hasnt
abandoned his work and passion. You will meet him most probably on the
Pigeon Square which is a part of the Market Square. Look for the ledge of
Spi Restaurant.

0 Honour
ul. Czerwonego Krzya 5/9
Dwarves are very sensitive creatures. They have a strong sense of morality,
family, compassion and honesty are their main principles. Thats way a
dwarf called Honour came to the Blood Donation Centre in Wrocaw to
remind us all how important it is to donate blood that can help those in
need.

1 Impelie
ul. lna 118
Impelie is a role model for all dwarves. Even Papa Dwarf praised his
diligence. Impelie is responsible for cleaning the windows of the companys
headquarters. Although it is a large office building, the management speaks
highly of Impelies job. He even motivates other employees to increase their
efficiency.

2 Film Buff Junior

w. Antoniego 1
Right next to the cinema on Kaziemierza Wielkiego Street you can see an
extraordinary fan of movies. Hes sitting on an old-fashioned projector and
awaits another film festival. There are plenty of them here in Wrocaw, so no
wonder he settled. Film-buff also likes to write a hard-hitting review
sometimes, but only to the dwarves newspapers.

3 Smithie
ul. Kunicza
Is he a blacksmith or a goldsmith? Most certainly both! Smithie has a
magical talent with metal. You may trust him and his hammer to turn a
simple metal nugget into a masterpiece - rings or armours, whatever you
wish. You can find him on Kunicza Street.

4 Theatre Dwarf
ul. Rzenicza 12
How did a dwarf come to love theatre? Well, at the beginning he sneaked
into the place to snatch breadcrumbs and other tasty snacks that Big
Humans always leave behind. He looked at the plays and eventually fell in
love with drama. Now you will meet him in front of the Theatre on
Rzenicza Street where he awaits a chance to debut and start his
international acting career.

5 Flyer
ul. Skaryskiego 36
He was always a dreamer, keen on travels, so theres no surprise that his
greatest dream was a journey to the moon. He learned one day that from
the Copernicus airport at noon a special plane is going to depart a
cosmoplane
Apparently this information of a craft heading to the moon was given him by
some prankster. Flyer unfortunately believed in it and without doing much
thinking packed his suitcase, then quickly said goodbye to his family.
Although he has been a dreamy, kind and mild spirit all his life, Flyer did
have one flaw he frequently overslept. So the night before his alleged
journey to the moon, he set all alarms that were available in the house.
Unfortunately, on that particular day when he was supposed to travel to the
moon, he also slept a bit too long.
He arrived 10 minutes too late and started crying Tears rolled immensely
down his cheeks, as the poor disappointed dwarf refused to accept that he
wont take the journey of his life. He stands there ever since, time-frozen in
anticipation and hope for another such cosmoplane to come.

Meanwhile like all dwarves he enjoys being useful, so he informs travellers

about the airport topography, departure times, delays etc. Its probably the
only dwarf in Wrocaw, who lives out of a suitcase without actually travelling
anywhere

6 Luminator
Tauron, ul. Sudecka 95/97
Silently, not seeking any fame or recognition, one of the dwarves does a
titanic job, for other dwarves to enjoy the electricity, light and energy. Its the
Luminator, who (as his very name suggests) cares about the light.
As we know the Little Ones are pretty traditional and conservative men,
reluctantly looking at technological innovations and progress. Among
exceptions to this rule there is Luminator, who tries to be always up-to-date
with the tech news. No wonder, he needs this knowledge and skills for
work. Thats why Luminator uses a laptop when at work and at night he
switches on a lamp over his head. This way he can also continue after
dusk. Nobody knows when does Luminator rest or sleep.
His commitment or maybe even workaholism, is not a whim or caprice. Its
a necessity. Without his effort the Dwarf City would drown in absolute
darkness. Dwarves would hae to stop helping Humans and sleep all the
time due to a complete lack of energy. So Luminator works without non-stop
and solves every problem of the dwarf energetic industry on his special
laptop.
You can admire him at the headquarters of EnergiaPro Gigawat at 16
Powstacw lskich Square.

7 Marcy
ul. Bujwida 44
Shes one of the few dwarf ladies, that decided to come forward and reveal
herself to the Big Humans. Her kind heart made her help children from the
local Hematology Clinic.
Marcy has always helped injured birds and hamster for instance. But the
true calling came when she began work in the dwarf kindergarten. It was
the moment when she realized that taking care of children is her passion.
Especially those children who are unfortunate.
For years she took care of the sick and orphaned young dwarves.
Everything changed when she heard about the organization based in
Wrocaw, called Mam marzenie (English: I have a dream) which is

devoted to fulfilling the dreams of sick kids. One of the kids wanted to meet
a real dwarf!
Since then she is often seen in the corridors of the Hematology and
Oncology Clinic in Wrocaw. She walks among kids making sure they have
all thats necessary and comforts them. In the evenings she tells all the
magical and amazing stories from the world of dwarves.
She will do whatever is possible to help her little patients.
If you wish to help Marcy and her charity Mam marzenie check their
website:
http://mammarzenie.org/

8 Chopper-dwarf
Szewska 10
He has one hand on the handlebar, with the second he greets passing
drivers and pedestrians. Whos that? Chopper-dwarf, first motorist among
the Little Ones in Wrocaw, a dedicated friend of all those who love driving
motorcycles.
Although he constantly roams the streets of Wrocaw on his bike, you are
most likely to catch him somewhere near the St. Mary Magdalenes
Cathedral on Szewska Street. Its the usual meeting spot of the bikers,
where they lively discuss all the topics related to their beloved vehicles.
Chopper-dwarf, the smallest of them all, always has some advice, kind
word or a helping hand for his friends.
Sometimes my fellow dwarves ask me to let them ride my motorcycle.
Unfortunately I know how difficult it is, so I never let them drive. Still, Im
very happy to take them as passengers through the streets of our beautiful
town he declares.
Members of the Wratislavia Bikers Association came up with the idea of
inviting a dwarf to their group. Thanks to their effort and commitment we
have the first dwarf that is a pride owner of a drivers licence. The figure of
this charming dwarf was created by Matylda Mika.

9 Miller
Wyspa Sodowa 10
Not many people are aware that this heroic dwarf even exists. And it is
thanks to him that residents of Wrocaw had any flour for the past years.

The Miller came to Wrocaw at the same time as the first mills. He belongs
to the clan referred to by other dwarves as the Busy Bees. These dwarves
help people in their work. Miller specializes in machinery used to mill crops.
For centuries he worked unnoticed in the mill called Maria on Ostrw
Tumski.
When workers of the mill ended their shift and left to lay down tired, Miller
took his turn. He oiled all parts of the machinery, fixed small defects.
Thanks to his effort the mill worked perfectly well for years and people
always had fresh flour at hand.
Since the Maria Mill has closed, Miller has enjoyed a well-deserved
retirement. Presently he only treats bakery as a pastime and struck a deal
with one baker. The baker will sell Millers products to Humans under his
own name, keeping his existence a secret.
Once in a while Miller sits at the river bank and smokes his pipe, blowing
out smoke in the shape of fresh buns.
