a. Time- 1:03 b. http://www.teachertube.com/video/anatomy-andphysiology-body-cavities-385498 c. This video teaches the different body cavities in the human body for anatomy and physiology. d. Strand: organization of the human body e. Standard 1: students shall explore the organizational structures of the body from the molecular to the organism level f. OHB.1.AP .5: identify the major body cavities and the subdivisions of each cavity g. Since this video is short, I will use this video as an introduction to the body cavities in the human body. It clarifies that the hollow parts of the body are called cavities so that will be the first introduction to students. I will use it as a visual and audio learning tool for this introduction. I will use the introduction of the dorsal and ventral cavities to help students be able to visualize which cavities are in the front and which are in the back. This also introduces the smaller cavities in the ventral and dorsal cavities, which will also help students be able to visualize their location. Lastly, it introduces the easiest cavity to find which is the cranial but it will still be helpful for students to see its location in vicinity to the other cavities. 1. Cell Transport for Anatomy and Physiology a. Time- 6:10 b. http://www.teachertube.com/video/cell-transport-foranatomy-and-physiology-383786 c. This video discusses and explains the different cell transport mechanisms for anatomy and physiology. d. Strand: Anatomy and Physiology of the Cell e. Standard 3: Students shall understand that cells are the basic, structural, and functional units of life. f. APC.3.AP.2: compare and contrast the different ways in which substances cross the plasma membrane: i. Diffusion and osmosis ii. Facilitated diffusion iii. Active transport iv. Filtration v. Endocytosis vi. Exocytosis g. I will use this video to further explain the transportation of material across the cell membrane (which is the same thing as plasma membrane). This video goes deeper into
the different process and why each can occur with
dependence on the phospholipid composition of the membrane, size of particles, whether they are lipid soluble solutions, and etc. I will use it as a very good visual for students to see the different ways substances cross the membrane. Besides it being a very good audio and visual aid, I will use the explanations it gives for each process as a way to better explain them if they werent understood when they were first introduced. It explains why each process occurs which will be very helpful to students. It covers all of the different ways substances can cross the cell membrane but I would need to further explain the process of filtration after the video.
