Create Your Own Political Advertisement

Using the principles of visual literacy and effective political advertising that you have
learned over the course of the last couple of days, you and three others will form a group to
create your own political commercial. Use your infographics as well as notes from the
PowerPoint of examples to help you build your commercial. It must contain the following:
-A Presidential candidate (may be fictional)
-Political party
-Clear, concise message
-Proper tone (serious, humorous, jingle, attack, informative, etc.)
-A clear position on platform issues
All ads will be between 30 and 45 seconds long. Everyone must appear on camera at some
point in time. When you submit your ad via e-mail, attach a Word document detailing the
roles and responsibilities of everyone in the group.
All ads will be shown to the class and everyone will offer (appropriate) peer feedback via the
attached rubric. The teacher will judge each advertisement through this rubric as well.
