I have read your complaint that you sent to us a few weeks ago and felt like I needed to respond
as soon as possible. First off I want to say that we value you as a customer, and we understand
your worry for our decision to remove the headphone jack. However, I want to assure you that
our reasoning for this isnt about squeezing money for our customer base. Apple is the best
technology company in the world right now, and we need to keep innovating our products day in
and day out. That being said, sometimes as an industry leader we need to take the first step in
deleting old technology to make room for new advances. The 3.5mm headphone jack is not only
old technology, but stereo headphones do not have the best sound quality on the market. Using
the new bluetooth setup for listening to music doesnt just output an analog audio signal, but it
transfers uncompressed digital data, which can then be reconstructed and outputted to sound
better then a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Not everyone is going to understand our reasoning at first, which is why after hearing all of the
comments, we have decided to release and adapter with the new iPhone which will allow
customers to use their headphones through the charging port. We hope this will be a viable
option, and will allow our users to transition into new and better sounding technology.
