Introduction:
So you've stumbled upon my Prototype 2 guide for whatever reason. This game is
pretty self-explanatory but there are certain parts that can seem frustrating
or take quite a bit of time to do. If you're looking at this guide before you
start playing this game, I recommend starting to play it on Hard difficulty.
The game is not that hard to begin with and you'll unlock Insane difficulty as
soon as you finish. But ok, on with the guide because no one wants to hear me
ramble.

Throughout Prototype 2 during missions and free-roam you will encounter
soldiers and infected that has a yellow or blue flexing arm logo above their
bodies. If you consume them you will be upgraded somehow, whether it be the
Blade or the Shield or even your rifle skill. They're always available and
even if you kill the subject that contains the upgrade instead of consuming
them, they'll pop up someplace else. Upgrades do not go away and can always be
attained at a later time or in a different mission.

Consumption is an ability that Heller received when he became infected. It
allows him to consume any type of organic matter - infected or not. Once Heller
consumes a human he can use their human form as a disguise to walk around town,
grab a bite to eat or infiltrate a Blackwatch base without being seen (well,
technically he's seen). Consuming humans or infected grants you health but you
can only disguise as a human form. Weak humans and infected you can simply grab
and eat but stronger enemies must have their health relinquished to near
nothing before they can be consumed.
Eventually you can upgrade Heller's regeneration ability to the point where he
can regain all of his health even while in combat. This is extremely helpful
and makes Heller even more dangerous and immortal than he already is.

Heller describes it as "viral" sonar and that's pretty much exactly what it is.
Heller sends out a ping that travels back to him and marks the location on the
map of where the specific target is located. It is easier to hunt when you are
higher up off the ground, as in standing on top of a building or flying through
the city. Once you are in range of the target you will see where the sonar
rings are originating from - they then glow red.
Disguises are used frequently in Prototype 2 and Heller can take the form of
any human he consumes (clothes included). You will use Blackwatch disguises
many a-time to infiltrate Blackwatch bases or stealthily follow an enemy to a
secure place where you can consume them. You can also press left on the D-pad
to switch back to Heller's normal clothes from your current disguise and viceversa. Your disguise will be stored and hot-keyed to the left D-pad button
should you choose to switch DNA again. Be careful though: switching disguises
in front of someone who is suspicious of you already will not reduce the
suspicion meter or exit an alert. You have to be out of the line of sight to
successfully exit an alert with a disguise change.
Here are some basic tips:
- If you attack a Blackwatch trooper or attack anyone in a Blackwatch base,
this will trigger an instant alert.
- If you trigger a mutation in view of a soldier or walk around with your
powers active and visible, this will cause an alert. Things like picking up
cars or tossing humans hundreds of feet will also cause an alert because...
well, normal people don't do that.
- If you stand in range of a Viral Detector will increase your suspicion.
- Wall-running and gliding can cause an alert as can landing from a high fall
although I have found, unless you're in Heller's default form, this will not
trigger an alert instantaneously.
- Bumping and shrugging shoulders with soldiers also causes suspicion.
- Once you switch disguises out of sight and in an alert, your previous form is
still "at large", represented by a draining red meter. Stay in your current
disguise long enough for the red meter to drain before switching back to your
"at large" one.

Powers are Heller's personal weaponry, ranging from the swift and lethal Claws
to ponderous crushing Hammerfists. Each Power has strengths and weaknesses in
different situations, but as you are allowed to switch instantly in combat (and
pause combat while doing so), you can always use the best tool for the job.
Powers are unlocked during specific story missions, so the only way to acquire
them all is to progress through the main storyline.

2.04.1 Claws [CLAWS]===============================================

Receive --> Operation Flytrap
Upgrades --> Operation Flytrap, Natural Selection, Fall from Grace
Claws are your first and most basic Power. They are fast, deal a good amount of
damage and their hold-button leaping ability makes it easy (and fun) to kill
things from a distance.
TAP ATTACK for rapid Claw attack.
HOLD ATTACK for a Claw Pounce attack. This attack has a very long leap
distance, and can be used to target enemies on the ground or in the air, and
used while jumping to propel you towards a targeted enemy.

2.04.2 Tendrils [TENDR]============================================

Upgrades --> Project Long Shadow, Natural Selection, Fall from Grace
Tendrils are the second unlocked Power and they are very useful too. Their
speed is average at best but they have a longer ranged power attack to off-set
that. The real power of Tendrils is what they do when they hit an enemy. Once
an enemy has been hit with Tendrils, strands of genetic material pin them to
nearby objects making them immobile for a couple of seconds. In the beginning
Tendrils can only pin puny and weak enemies but as you upgrade your tendrils
they eventually will immobilize Brawlers and the like!
TAP ATTACK for a Tendril grab.
HOLD ATTACK for a Black Hole attack. This is a longer range Tendril strike, and
when it impacts, biological strands grab anything nearby in the environment and
pull it into your target with crushing force.
NOTE: Tendrils are a good secondary weapon to have during the whole game, so I
recommend keeping them handy throughout the entire game. They are great sidekicks to either one of Heller's other four powers.

2.04.3 Hammerfist [HAMMA]==========================================

The Hammerfist is a ponderous and powerful weapon. Although not very quick,
the power on this sucker is commendable. It is great to use against heavily
armored APC's or helicopters (if you can get that high to use it) but it is not
the right weapon to use on quick, tough and agile enemies - they will dodge
your attacks with ease and leave you wide open for a counter.
TAP ATTACK for slow moving ground attack. Great attack to destroy armored
vehicles.
HOLD ATTACK for a Ground Spike attack. Great attack to combo into from the
quick attack because the quick attack will do damage to the big fat foes while
the power attack will annihilate any smaller enemies that seemed to have
carelessly wandered into your path of destruction. If used in mid-air, Heller
will sky-dive directly onto the target doing a balls-load of damage.

2.04.4 Blade [BLADE]===============================================

The embodiment of Alex Mercer, Prototype numero uno, this weapon sure does
look cool as well as being an extremely useful, powerful, and versatile. It is
sort of like the Claws, trading speed and agility for power and reach, but it
can also be safely used instead of the Claws.
TAP ATTACK for cleaving slash attacks.
HOLD ATTACK for a Tornado spinning attack. Although this attack takes a while
to activate it is well worth the wait ripping enemies to shreds in the process.

2.04.5 Whipfist [WHIPS]============================================

The Whipfist is the final weapon that Heller acquires. Personally I think he
receives it way too late in the game and doesn't really get to play around with
it at all. Regardless of my personal, and perhaps crappy, opinion, the Whipfist
is a dream to use against helicopters. The power attack increases your grab
range so that you can grab people or objects from a distance to plant bio-bombs
or even throw or consume them.
TAP ATTACK for a sweeping attack. Instantly killing weaker enemies is fun.
HOLD ATTACK for a Long Shot attack. Projecting itself in a straight line and
dealing damage to a single target, this attack is useful for those things that
just won't lay down and die. And things with wings or rotors. Ahem. Helicopters.

Mutations are special upgrades acquired by completing side missions Collectibles and Blacknet missions both award a variety of Mutation types.
Completing a missions that awards a Mutation allows you to pick any ONE
Mutation in that category. Some mutations are restricted to certain zones for example, the Green Zone. You should pick mutations based on the abilities
you use most often as well as broadening your range of killing apparatus in the
process. So choose mutations that you're familiar and work well with as well
as ones that affect the widest range of abilities.

Offensive Mutations boost Heller's damaging capabilities. Some good Mutations
to pick up early are:
Darwinism - You will be fighting lots of military enemies throughout the game,
so this is a no brainer.
Strike Force - Melee attacks are your bread and butter so upgrade this early.
Melee Expert - Same thing as Strike Force basically.
Revenge Boost - Also useful early in the game as you will be dealing with
infected quite a bit.

Predator upgrades aren't as useful in a broad spectrum but focus on more
specific abilities, like your Mass meter, Devastator ability and things dealing
with Consuming. Some good Predator Mutations to pick up early are:
Hungry Boy - This adds more Mass from consuming and essentially decreases the
wait between the times that you can use your Devastator ability.
Mass-terful Strikes - Also helps in the wait time for the Devastator.
Protein Boost - This just makes your health go up more from Consuming, but
who's complaining?

These upgrades can be avoided for a while because they are extremely specific
in regards to the skill that they upgrade. Eventful Horizon can be one that you
pick up early if you use the Tendrils often (and as a semi-permanent secondary
weapon).

Skills are upgrades that increase Heller's efficiency with various Blackwatch
vehicles and weaponry. These upgrades are acquired by consuming a certain
individual with a blue/yellow flexed arm icon above their heads.

2.06.1 Weapons [WEAPO]=============================================

The first levels of Armor and Helicopter use must be acquired via specific
missions before you can use them at all, while you can make use of the
Blackwatch weapons very early in the game. Generally speaking, Assault Rifles,
Light Machine Guns, Grenade Launchers and Rocket Launchers aren't as strong as
Heller's own melee Powers, but they have the advantage of range. Weaponized
APC, Tank and Helicopter armaments are a different story all together. A
Gatling gun from a Tank terrorizes anything that you aim it at so make use of
this completely OP (over-powered) weapon early in the game.

2.06.2 Evolution [DARWI]===========================================

Evolution upgrades are acquired by earning experience points and gaining
levels. Each time Heller levels up you get to choose one upgrade to purchase
and add to one of the six upgrade lines. An easy way to go about upgrading
Heller is:
1. Choose Regeneration upgrades early in the game and add in a few Health
upgrades.
2. Grab the first Mass upgrade because when people interrupt your Devastator
it's really annoying - trust me.
3. Choose the Finisher upgrades when available. Instantaneous termination of
Armor and Helicopters is extremely useful.
4. Get the Movement upgrades later on when tackling collectibles. They make it
easier to travel around the city.
5. Avoid Shapeshifting upgrades until the late game as they are less important.

------Hydras are three-story-tall tentacles that erupt from the ground to swat at
nearby enemies. They can burrow underground to reach a more advantageous
position, sometimes choosing to erupt from the ground directly underneath a
tank, building, or other enemy site.
It is not known where Hydras come from. It is possible that, since the biomass
trunks also erupt from the underground, Hydras may simply be animal-like
appendages that extend or "bud" from the biomass itself.
Hydras are pink- and red-glowing tapered worms. They are usually six feet wide
at the base, where they erupt from the ground. Their mouths are topped with two
bone-like mandibles that form a long pointed scoop. These mandibles can
separate to reveal a mouth that spits out a tongue. This tongue can grab
enemies and bring them closer for a titanic slap from the tentacle itself, or
presumably, to be eaten. Hydra are rarely encountered while you're on foot, but
when they are, dispatch them from a distance with rocket launchers or vehicle
weaponry.
------|Flyer|
------Cities under siege by a Blacklight outbreak are sometimes home to flocks of
Flyers. These vulture-like monsters spread the plague and attack anything that
stands, or flies, in the open.
The origin of the Flyers has not yet been explored. Other than the Hydra, they
are the only Blacklight monster that does not have a humanoid physiology. It's
possible that Flyers are city birds (pigeons, crows, starlings) that have
acquired an infection and later transformed, just as humans do.
Flyers look like diseased vultures. They have pinkish flesh, scraggly feathers,
and gnarled faces. Their wingspan is approximately two meters and they have
bulk sufficient to knock a helicopter out of the sky. Their favorite attack
method is to perform a high-speed dive-bomb. They mass in flocks.
You don't encounter them until you enter the heavily infected Red Zone. Flyers
are a relatively uncommon enemy. As they are infrequent outside specific
missions (or, very rarely, summoned to attack by Evolved), you don't have to
worry about handling them often.
--------|Evolved|
--------Evolved are a very special type of Infected - indistinguishable from normal
humans until they reveal Blacklight infused powers. They are extremely dangerous
melee opponents.
Evolved have high levels of agility, move quickly, and can strike with
considerable force. They are best dealt with by using Claws or Blade, dodging
or blocking their attack strings, and then counter-attacking.
Evolved are rarely encountered in large numbers, but when facing more than one,
using your Pack Leader ability or acquiring the assistance of some Blackwatch
heavy weaponry is not a bad idea.
--------|Goliath|
--------The monstrous Goliath is a rarely encountered, powerful infected creature. An
out of control evolution, the Goliath is as large as a building and has the
temper of a Brawler.
The Goliath cannot be defeated by conventional means; it must be taken apart
piece by piece.
You only encounter the Goliath during a handful of specific missions. Luckily,
you don't need to worry about running into them when roaming the streets.
------------|Alex Mercer|
------------The pinnacle of Blacklight evolution, Alex Mercer is the original Prototype.
Though his motives remain unclear, one thing is certain: his role in Heller's
story is far from over.
Boasting versatile mutations and regenerative abilities, he was undisputedly
the most powerful of those infected with the virus. These powers and abilities
set him apart from the unfortunate Infected and bestial monstrosities that
roam the city. This made him unique among the Infected population. Notice the
past tense.

4 --> Yellow Zone Missions ##################################################

The first area you gain access to after you gain control of Heller (after all
the cut scenes and small gameplays) is the Yellow Zone. Right in the middle, in
terms of infection, it offers several tutorial missions before fully thrusting
you into combat with Brawlers, Orion Supersoldiers, and so much more. On to the
walkthrough!

After the initial cut scene you gain control of Heller. Well sort of, you just
get to run after Alex Mercer with your huge ass knife. After running for a
while you'll get your first glimpse of a Brawler. Don't worry, you don't have
to fight it...yet. Right afterwards a helicopter comes and flies overhead only
to be Sparta-kicked by Mercer into the side of the building. The helicopter
starts spinning towards you and you have to Press A to dodge.
NOTE: You can dodge at any time while standing on the ground. Pressing A and a
directional button will cause you jump and roll in that direction. When
fighting an enemy, pressing A and jumping towards it will cause Heller
to jump over the enemy and land behind them. This works especially
well with Brawlers.
After you dodge the helicopter a Goliath makes its first appearance. Quickly
hold RT and proceed to run away from Goliath while Heller exemplifies his
Olympic runner-like qualities. Heller eventually escapes into some building,
not for long though because a Brawler bursts through the door! Mash the X
button as fast as you can to have Heller completely own the Brawler. Once it's
down, catch up to Mercer. A cut scene ensues...

-------------------------------------After the initial mission's cut scene Gentek scientist take Heller away to some
lab to run tests on him. The scientists watching Heller decide to see how
powerful he really is - they release Infected into the room. As the Infected
start coming press the X button for a quick attack and hold the X button for
a powerful kick that sends crowds of mutants flying. Rinse and repeat, using
the power attack anytime a crowd gets close. The scientists eventually get
scared and decide that it's pretty straightforward that they kill Heller...so
they torch the room leaving Heller with what looks like 1st degree burns.
After the two Blackwatch soldiers come in tap B to grab one of them and then
quickly tap Y to Consume. Heller regains a portion of his health for everyone

OPPOSITION MET: Orion Supersoldier
Your efforts in the Yellow Zone have massively disrupted Gentek's operations,
but there are still some high ranking Gentek doctors on the loose. Like Dr.
Koenig. Get to where Koenig is, get a Blackwatch disguise and use the hand
scanner to get inside the base.
BONUS!!! DO NOT ENTER ALERT
Pretty easy to do but a couple of reminders:
- Avoid the viral detector's scan range
- Use a hunting ping to see who can be safely consumed or not
- You can consume a white target from any direction without triggering
an alarm, no matter how exposed you might feel
- Wait for targets to move, or intentionally bump them to change where
they are looking
- Lock on to a target and emit a hunting ping to see who is watching
the target
You have to consume a Blackwatch guard with proper clearance to reach Dr.
Koenig who is behind another scanner. Now, there are Brawler cages here. I
released them because I'm an asshole and still got the Bonus because once
everyone is dead, no one is there to yell "HELLER!" when you kill Brawlers with
your powers. If you want to though you can go meet Koenig and on your way out
release the Brawlers. This way, if they have an ability icon above them, you
can earn it without forfeiting the bonus!
When you meet Koenig he sweet talks you into going to kill the Orion Supersoldiers that are being held in a different facility. Head to the Project Orion
depot and destroy the communications arrays around the area. I used a rocket
launcher because it was easy, quick, and fun. Once you destroy all three
systems you get to meet, dun dun dun, the Orion Supersoldier. The course of
action here: wait until they glow blue and are just about to attack; then block
their attacks and unleash a counter-attack when they're staggering! Once they
are all defeated your objective becomes to screw up the base as much as you
can. Destroy everything that is marked and then defeat the remainder of the
Supersoldiers using the combination of block and counter that you used before.
Once the Orions are wiped off the map, you hear a Dr. Burk over the radio
discussing a Phase Two operation at a proving grounds. He's using another Orion
to clone more of the supersoldier - dang it, and just when we thought it was
over! Well, the mission is over technically.

Koenig gets in touch with Heller and tells him where the afore-mentioned
proving grounds are. Head there quickly!
Once here you have to defeat the Phase Two Orion Supersoldiers.
BONUS!!! USE SHIELD TO COUNTER THE SUPERSOLDIER'S ATTACKS
Easy enough because you (hopefully) practiced it in the previous
mission.
Phase Two's are identical to Phase One's, they just have more health. Use the
TOW's from the nearby APCs to really kill the Phase Two. Once he is consumed
Heller blacks out and wakes up with the Devastator power! Unleash it by
pressing B + Y! Cool, huh? You now have a mass bar that fills along with your
health bar when you consume things. More Orion's and Brawlers come so use your
Tendrils on the Brawlers to tie them up and then use the block/counter combo on
the Orions to dispatch them. Once everything is dead Burk shows himself. Pounce
on him to consume him. Apparently Koenig is full of crap. Surprised? Exit the
alert to complete the mission.

OPPOSITION MET: Evolved
As soon as you trigger the mission two gunships are waiting to tear you up.
Destroy them with a few Black Hole attacks and track down Dr. Koenig. First,
however, you have to consume a Commander who knows his location. He is in an
APC so when he attempts to flee consume him! Once his memories flood your brain
head to Base Seven, the location of Dr. Koenig.
Once you reach the base you realize that it's in lockdown mode. How boring.
Destroy a few of the fuel tanks to turn up the party. When you've destroyed
enough of the fuel tanks, Koenig runs out and starts escaping in a helicopter.
His helicopter is a bit tougher and fires rockets at a much higher rate, but if
you can find a TOW or a rocket launcher it can be dispatched quickly. Once the
helicopter is down Koenig reveals himself to be infected with the Blacklight
virus! Treat him like a Brawler, only faster. Dodge his attacks and then strike
and counter him from behind. Eventually you'll get his health down low to where
you can consume him. Do so and end the mission. Time to travel to the Green
Zone.

Unlike Father Guerra who used bribery and contacts to reach the Green Zone,
Heller is going to take a much more interesting route. Follow the waypoint to
a Blackwatch base and consume the marked Commander to gain access to the
Airbridge. After having an interesting conversation with the helicopter pilot
about how Infected are slipping into the Green Zone via tunnels from the Red
Zone, go meet with Father Guerra. Guerra tells you Mercer's plan which peaks
Heller's curiosity. Now you have to attend some briefing that the helicopter
pilot was talking about.
When you arrive however, a Sergeant tells you to man Copperhead 2-2, an APC,
and take care of some Infected situation.
BONUS!!! DRIVE OVER 60 INFECTED
Head over to the park area and drive over all the Infected until
you've reached the magic number of 60.
Defeat Brawlers and Juggernauts along the way, by backing up and maintaining
continuous fire. You have unlimited ammo and a simple reload time so just go
all out when you have to.
When you meet up with Copperhead 2-1 a Hydra bursts out of the ground! Move
back and forth, avoiding the things it hurls at you, while maintaining constant
TOW and cannon fire. Once it is dead you are told to return the base and
(finally) attend this stupid meeting.

5 --> Green Zone Missions ###################################################

The second "island" that Heller gains access to is filled with missions that
deal with finding Mercer's Infected Evolved that he's put in the Green Zone and
eliminating them from existence. Not too shabby.

5.01 --> A Stranger Among Us [AMONG]$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Essentially, Sabrina Galloway has hindered a truce with you in exchange for
giving up information that leads Heller to all of Mercer's Evolved in the
Green Zone. One Evolved she doesn't possess the location of is Roland. And he
has a whole mission designated just for him, how special!
Get to Roland's team and the stealth consume one of his co-workers. Now you
have to patrol the streets and wipe out any Infected WITHOUT using your Blacklight powers. I recommend keeping an LMG handy and then switching off for a
grenade/rocket launcher when Brawlers come. Oh, and don't forget to dodge.
After your first group of sad, sad Infected are killed Brawlers join the party.
BONUS!!! KILL AT LEAST 3 INFECTED WITH ONE SHOT
A bit tricky to do and you can wait until all the fights are over-with
before you attempt this bonus. Wait until three or more Infected
bunch up in a group and then fire a shell right in the middle of the
crowd after aiming. This might be hard to do because you're getting
attacked by Brawlers at the same time, but if you dodge enough you
should be fine.
After the Brawler is dead grab a rocket launcher and proceed. A Hydra bursts
from underground - perfect time practice your rocket launcher aim! Once the
Hydra is dead more Infected and Brawlers attack. I know, it's getting tiring
but hang in there! Almost done. The next attack consists of two Hydras, one at
each end of the street. However, some broken down APCs have left TOW launchers
lying around; grab one.
You finally reach Roland. Pop out of the disguise and attack! Uh-oh, he's an
Evolved. Eventually he faceplants Heller into the ground and flees the scene.
Damn it, we were so close too.

Track Roland to his hideout. When you arrive you see Roland run into a Lair.
Then a Hydra bursts out and you have to kill it to gain access to the underground Infected breeding lab. Once you've defeated the Hydra, enter the Lair.
Once you start pursuing Roland through the Lair a Juggernaut blocks your path.
This one is cool - it can be consumed. Defeat it like you defeated the
enemies in "Feeding Time" and you should be fine. Once the "B" consume action
pops up, hit B and consume the Juggernaut. You've gained the Hammerfist!
BONUS!!! DEFEAT 30 INFECTED WITH THE HAMMERFIST
This is so each. Just ground pound and do an aerial hold-X attack
until the counter reaches 30.
Time to run after Roland, yet again. When you walk outside it's time to try
out the move I mentioned earlier. Jump into the air and lock onto an enemy.
Then hold X to have Heller ground pound your target and make spikes come out of
the ground all around the impact area.
Roland seems to have hijacked a tank but tanks are pussies compared to the
Hammerfist.
BONUS!!! DESTORY THE USING THE HAMMERFIST
Using the power attack is the easiest way to do this. Super jump up
and then hold X to come down onto the targeted tank. Rinse and repeat.
Once all the tanks are dead Roland finally emerges and you can confront him.
The key to fighting Roland is to remain mobile and use a plethora of powers.
Don't just stick to the Hammerfist, through in some Tendrils and a bit of Claw
usage as well. Make sure to take out the Blackwatch personnel as they become
quite annoying as the fight progresses. Once Roland can be consumed, do so. You
know have unlocked the Shield Spikes upgrade! This makes them even more
effective against strong melee enemies such as Orion Supersoldiers, Brawlers,
and the Evolved.

Head to Archer's research facility and when you arrive, consume the lone
scientist that's walking around. Gain access to the base and you are given a
new objective: destroy the storage tanks.
BONUS!!! USE STEALTH BIO-BOMB TWICE
Hunt down any guards or scientists that aren't being watched. Grab
them, press X and watch them explode. Once this bonus is out of the
way, go after the tanks again.
Just melee them in your disguise or use Devastator if you don't care about the
alert. When the tanks have been vanquished, Archer reveals herself as Evolved.
She is one of the tougher ones so get ready for a doozy. Use the same tactics
for her as any other Evolved. About midway through the fight she summons a pack
of Brawlers to fight for her. Take care of them and she'll show herself again.
Get her health down another slice until she summons four more Brawlers. Once
again go to town on the monsters and when two are remaining she comes back into
the fight. Kill her please! Consume her when she is staggered to grant Heller
the Pack Leader ability.
Exit the base and then summon your Brawler back by pressing A + X. When a heli
joins the fight target it and sick your Brawlers on it by pressing LS. After
the mini-tutorial, the mission ends.

Assume the identity of a Blackwatch Commander and order the immediate release
or Whitelight. The soldiers become Infected and transform into Evolved.
BONUS!!! SUMMON YOUR BRAWLER PACK TO HELP FIGHT THE EVOLVED
Press A + X and summon your Brawler pack during the fight. This isn't
only rewarding XP-wise, it's smart too.
Use your Tendrils to tie down the Evolved and then a combination of Blade and
Claws to slice them into pieces. After all of them are dead Guerra contacts
Heller and warns him of the Whitelight stockpile somewhere in the city. Follow
the waypoint and meet up with Mercer. Unfortunately you never get to finish
your friendly chat with Alex because a Goliath is stomping through the Green
Zone directly towards the Whitelight depot. This is not good.
The Goliath is the most lethal Infected you will encounter in the entire game
and it cannot be defeated normally.
Wait for it to attack and dodge anything it does. When it shows its head to
you, slice at it as fast as you can with the Claws or Blade. When you deal
enough damage the Goliath exposes its leg; cut it off! This cripples it a bit.
Dodge more attacks until the Goliath screws itself over by getting its claw
stuck in the ground. Cut it off as well. Now it starts using a pile-driver
sort of move when it jumps in the air and smashes onto the ground. Keep your
sights locked onto it with LT and just glide around until it lands onto the
ground. This avoids damage and lets you quickly get back to the Goliath when
it's stunned to deal your own damage. Eventually you get to finally tear off
the Goliath's head. After a job well done, return to Father Guerra to finish
the mission.

This mission is similar to the Airbridge mission where all you (basically) do
is travel to the Red Zone. Arrive at the Blackwatch helipad and consume the
pilot. Once you do you will be automatically transported to the Red Zone and
you will be piloting the helicopter. Follow the your squad mates to the
telemetry truck that you have to defend.
Fire at anything Infected near the truck and don't conserve ammo. Like APCs and
tanks, helicopters don't have a limit to their ammo, just reload time.
BONUS!!! SHOOT DOWN THROWN OBJECTS TWICE
This is an easy bonus and it helps to know how to shoot down things
that people throw at you as well. Anytime someone throws something at
you the "Y" button will pop up on the screen. Just slide your finger
over it and press it quickly to vaporize whatever that is in the air
hurtling towards you.
Once you have defended the truck enough a Goliath appears. Quickly land and
pick up the engineer; then head to the Blackwatch base so the engineer can
decrypt Dana's location. Once you know her location, pilot the chopper to her
location to warn her of Blackwatch's impending arrival. Mission done.

6 --> Red Zone Missions #####################################################

The final string of missions in the game deals with Heller finding out that his
daughter is, in fact, alive. The remainder of the missions deal with finding
out where his daughter is being held - all that Heller has to go on is
somewhere in the Red Zone.

Dana tells you of a disturbance at a nearby Blackwatch base. When you arrive
you find Mercer's Evolved and Blackwatch in a heated battle with each other.
Your new objective is to destroy the Whitelight canisters by throwing them
into the incinerator. After they're all destroyed start fighting the Infected.
When the first Infected assault is countered a truck carrying Whitelight
containers flips on a nearby road. Get those containers back to the incinerator
quickly!
BONUS!!! SUMMON YOUR BRAWLER PACK TO HELP
Just press A + X and have the Brawlers take care of everyone while
you're hunting down Whitelight canisters.
There are three Whitelight canisters that need to be disposed of. You can't
glide while you're holding them, but you can run up walls and buildings plus
high jump. Use those to your advantage while avoiding any enemies that may try
fighting you. Once all three have been destroyed exit the alert area to finish
the mission.

First thing's first, you have to end the lockdown at Cantrell's base. The plan
is simple: smash the fuel storage tanks outside to get Cantrell out of the
base.
BONUS!!! DESTROY THE FUEL STORAGE TANKS WITH EXPLOSIVE WEAPONS
Grab a rocket launcher or grenade launcher from an obliging Blackwatch
soldier, blast as many of the tanks as possible, then grab a refill
firepower you have at your disposal. Once the first wave of helis has been
taken care of, more come onto your radar. Tail the choppers and try to take
them out in a couple of swoops. Your chopper will probably get shot down so
hop out and leap onto another one to take it over. Rinse and repeat until all
the helicopters have been destroyed. Galloway now contacts you giving you a new
goal of destroying the ammo depot.
Once you arrive at the ammo depot you will need to destroy the huge gate in the
front. Easiest way to do it is to hijack a nearby tank and unload on it,
although your basic Heller attacks will do just fine. Hammerfists are fun to
destroy things with anyways. Once the depot has been destroyed go and meet up
with Galloway to finish the mission.

Your first task is to find Dr. Carson. Follow the waypoints and receive the
location of Carson. When you reach India Niner Six, grab a military disguise
and use the hand scanner to get inside the base.
BONUS!!! STAY OUT OF ALERT
If you've patient and have frequently used stealth instead of brute
force, this shouldn't be a problem for you.
Once you're in the base, consume the scientist marked with a blue key to gain
access to Carson's lab. As soon as access to the lab is granted, consume Carson
to retrieve the location of Maya. But wait, a Goliath comes into the picture!
BONUS!!! DEFEAT THE GOLIATH WITHOUT TAKING ANY DAMAGE
By far the hardest bonus in the game, this achievement tests your
skills and wit. My recommendation is to keep hijacking helicopters
and firing missiles and machine gun rounds at the Goliath. When there
are no more helis to commandeer, you need to extremely careful and be
smart - if you take damage and want the bonus you're going to need to
start the mission over which is a nuisance.
Use the same style of play to kill this Goliath as you did when facing the
first one. Watch out for the stuff that it throws at you too; it's really easy
to take one little bit of damage from a rock or something and then have to
start the mission over, if you're hell-bent on the bonus that is. When you
finally defeat the Goliath the helicopter can land. Exit the alert and board
the chopper.
Once the chopper starts heading to its designated location, Evolved
interrupt the trip. Kill them all (by now you should be very familiar with
their attack styles) to learn what Mercer plans to do with Maya. This concludes
the mission.

Your goal is to breach Gentek's headquarters. Head there and when you arrive
the place is a warzone. Take out anything that gets in your way on the ground
until your Juggernauts arrive and start bashing down the door to the HQ. You
have to defend them while they do this; if they die you can consume the Alpha
Juggernaut to create another Juggernaut pack that will continue breaking down
the door. To help protect your Juggernauts I recommend weaponizing a nearby
tank or helicopter and using the weapon to help contain anything that tries to
bother your Juggernauts. Once you break down the door you realize that
Galloway is a bitch. She kidnaps your daughter and leads Heller into one last
fight with Alex Mercer.

This is it. All you have done has brought you here. You have traversed all over
NYZ making strange friends and even stranger enemies. Who knew you would be in
the position that you are in now? Here goes nothing.
Head to where Mercer is stationed; you arrive just in time to witness him
consume a giant group of Evolved. Great, he's stronger.
Mercer starts the fight using his Blade. Do not use yours! It will cause you
to be insta-countered and reeled back. Pick a different power, I prefer the
Whipfist for this fight. Land a few moves then run away. Never stick to a combo
attack because that will get Heller killed. Just do one or two (three if time
allows it) quick jabs and then dodge. Use the jump-over move to gain an edge on
Mercer at times too. When his health goes down to a certain level he leaps at
you - dodge the pounce and grab Mercer. After Heller pounds him into the
ground, he gets up and takes out his Whipfist.
Once again use a different power than the one Mercer is currently using. This
is the most difficult section of the fight but if you counter Mercer's leaps
a few times he will make one final jump towards you. Dodge it and grab him
again to witness yet another beat down from Heller.
Mercer has one more thing in his arsenal of goodies: the Hammerfist. Before he
switches though he sends a group of Flyers at you. You could try to kill them
one by one but using the Devastator is much easier. Once they're all dead,
engage Mercer again. Block his attacks, taking care not to use combos on him as
this will result in instant damage taken. Once his health has been depleted for
the third and final time he will leap at you - dodge this! Now grab him and
follow the on-screen prompts to rip his powers right off of his body!
Congratulations! You have completed Prototype 2! There are many more things you
can do before starting a new game. Blackboxes are to be found, Lairs can be
destroyed and Field Ops can be eliminated. Then when you've have your fill of
killing helpless Blackwatch soldiers you can start a New Game+ and keep all the
upgrades you have earned through your first play-through!

7 --> Collectibles ##########################################################

Scattered throughout the game are 82 Collectibles. Gathering all the
collectibles of any type in a district (Blackbox, Field Ops, or Lair) grants
you a bonus Mutation.
From the Collectibles map, periodic pings near the location of whatever
collectible category you have selected appear. These pings aren't spot on, but
they're in the general vicinity. If you set a waypoint near one, you can
usually track down the collectible without too much trouble.

Blackboxes are small data recorders of fallen Blackwatch troops, scattered
about the city. They are divided up into sets, one set in each of the districts
in the Yellow, Green and Red Zones. The sets tell a short story about
happenings in the city, and once you acquire them, you can listen to the
recordings at any time by selecting them on the Collectibles map. This is
particularly useful if you've been picking them up randomly while exploring
the city, and you want to hear all the recordings in a set in sequence.
Since this guide is in .txt format, I cannot post picture. But these
collectibles are so easy to find with the ping method described in the previous
section, you hardly need a map.
YELLOW ZONE - 13 Blackboxes

8 --> Blacknet Missions #####################################################

Blacknet missions are a series of optional missions that unlock as you
complete primary story missions throughout the game. There are a set of
Blacknet missions in each major zone, with a variety of basic objective types.
Each Blacknet mission set consists of one or more sub-missions, which, once
completed, unlock a new Mutation reward for Heller.
Note that outside the first one, the remaining Blacknet missions are entirely
optional. Tackle them if you're having trouble with the main story, for the
story and completion, or simply for fun.
--------------|Mission Types|
--------------STRONGHOLD You must infiltrate a secure Blackwatch compound and disrupt operations
within. Some of these missions permit a stealthy approach, using quiet
consumption to penetrate Blackwatch defenses, others can be done with pure
brute force, as you see fit.
INFECTED SALVAGE Destroy the Infected samples that Blackwatch are attempting to control.
These missions involved defeating various types of Infected, typically with a
heavy Blackwatch presence nearby.
CARGO DELIVERY A set of timed race challenges, these missions involve recovering key data or
other material from downed Blackwatch helicopters, before a Blackwatch
recovery team can catch up with you.
GENTEK SUPPORT Gentek scientists offer all sorts of theoretical and applied science aid to
Blackwatch. These missions give you a chance to rudely disrupt their efforts
by consuming Gentek scientists and neutralizing their operations.
SUPPRESSION The most straightforward type of Blacknet mission, Suppression typically
demands the outright destruction of key Blackwatch assets and personnel.

Mission Type: STRONGHOLD
NOTE: This Operation is the only mandatory Blacknet mission in the game. It
teaches you about base infiltration and Blacknet mission in general.
Approach the Blacknet terminal to begin the mission. Heller is notified that he
needs to be Dr. Samuel Billingsley to access the terminal; not a problem. Hunt
him down and consume him. Once that is done head to the Blackwatch base on your
map. Use the hand scanner at the front to get in. Once inside you need to
consume the Commander to gain access to the facility itself. Then inside the
facility you need to consume yet another Commander, but he needs to be stealth
consumed. Make sure to do that. Then head upstairs and enter the lab. Inside,
there is a scientist that you want to consume. Consume the two guards watching
him, then the scientist himself to complete the mission.

Mission Type: INFECTED SALVAGE
This one is simple. Head to the capture site and release the Brawler from the
secure container. You need a military form to do so. Once it is free hunt it
down and kill; exit the alert to complete the mission.
Mission Type: INFECTED SALVAGE
Travel to the Lair marked on your map and release the Brawler inside the
container.
BONUS!!! DAMAGE THE BRAWLER WITH AN EXPLOSION
Grab a grenade launcher or explosive container and fire/chuck it at
the Brawler to receive this bonus.
When the Brawler has been defeated you can leave the layer, preferably in a
Blackwatch disguise so you don't get ambushed by Blackwatch soldiers outside
the Lair.

Mission Type: CARGO DELIVERY
This mission is a type of intro to Blacknet Cargo Delivery missions. A
helicopter crashes and Heller has to run around surrounding buildings to
retrieve all the cargo before the timer runs out. Each piece of cargo you pick
up extends the timer. So ipso facto, (I'm your boss) this missions is
self-explanatory.

This mission is really straight-forward.

Just use stealth to consume the first two scientists, and then
consume the other two however you like.
When you consume all four scientists the mission is over.

Travel to the lair on the map to end Blackwatch's operation there. Once inside
the lair kill all the marked scientists and Blackwatch troops. When you exit,
however, an ambush awaits. Destroy the APCs they send at you and force the
Commander out. When everyone is dead and the Commander is helpless, consume
him.

A helicopter crashes. Race to pick up the cargo it drops. No surprises, just
do that and you'll complete the mission.

A Blackwatch base has a squadron of cool new tanks that are going to be
deployed just to hunt you. Awww, don't you feel special?
BONUS!!! HIJACK A TANK AND USE IT TO DESTROY ANOTHER TANK
Simple enough - commandeer a tank and unleash its cannon fire on
the other tanks in the are, taking care to wipe out any Blackwatch
soldiers that may become pests in the process.
When all the tanks are dead finish off any remaining troops and exit the base
to complete the mission.

Mission Type: SUPPRESSION
In this mission you have to destroy a fleet of (meaning three) helicopters.
Find them and kill them any number of ways: by weaponizing Heller and using the
Gatling gun against the choppers; using whatever powers you have acquired up
to this point, including Claw Pounce and Whipfist; or hijacking one of the
choppers and using it to kill the others. When the last helicopter has been
destroyed the Commander comes out - consume him and the mission ends.
Mission Type: CARGO DELIVERY
Simple cargo delivery mission until the last crate is stolen by an Evolved!
Chase him down and kill him to secure the crate and mission completion.
Mission Type: STRONGHOLD
Travel to the base in question and get inside with a Blackwatch disguise.
when you get inside, use the hand scanner to get into the interior chamber.
Kill the Brawlers rampaging inside this section and when you finish, consume
Dr. Fischer and finish off this mission.

A Blackwatch team is planning to release yet another Brawler. Travel to the
base marked on your mini-map and release the Brawlers. When you do they automatically flee. Chase them down and kill to complete the mission.
Mission Type: SUPPRESSION
Follow the waypoint to the APCs equipped with the Biomass Scanners.
BONUS!!! DESTROY ONE OF THE MARKED VEHICLES WITH A DEVASTATOR
This isn't that simple, although it's not that difficult either.
Beat one of the APCs into red health and THEN unleash your Devastator
on it.
Destroy all three APCs and then helicopters arrive. One of the helis is
carrying the guy who made the Biomass Scanners. Beat up all the choppers to
force out the engineer and then consume him.
REWARD: OFFENSIVE

Mission Type: CARGO DELIVERY
To begin this mission you have to beat up an Evolved. Do so and the mission
actually begins. Head to where the Blackwatch helicopter crashed to trigger the
recovery. As soon as you pick up the first package you cause an alert. This
makes it a bit harder to run quickly to pick up the package, but not
impossible. If this mission causes you trouble, come back when you have gained
more Locomotion upgrades.
Mission Type: GENTEK SUPPORT
Hunt down the first group of scientists as soon as you start the mission. When
you try to consume the third, after you find him of course, he reveals himself
to be an Evolved. Making matters worse he has two friends that want to help him
try to kill you.
BONUS!!! DEFEAT THE EVOLVED WITHIN 90 SECONDS
This is one of the tougher bonuses in the game. To pull it off, you
need a good number of upgrades and comfort with the combat system.
Use Blade and Tendrils to inflict maximum damage while tying up the
Evolved to get in free hits. Use your Brawler pack to add more free
damage. Otherwise, simply ignore incoming damage and play extremely
aggressively to down the Evolved quickly enough.
When you eliminate all three and consume the final scientist you finish the
mission.
REWARD: DEFENSIVE

When you reach the inside of the base, consume Dr. Vandiver to gain access to
Commander Chapin. Attempt a consumption to find out Chapin is an Evolved.
Kill and consume him then exit the base.
BONUS!!! DEFEAT THE 8 BLACKWATCH TROOPERS WHO SAW YOU EXIT THE BASE
Eliminate the final squad of pesky troops and exit the alert.
Once the second bonus is done, you have completed the mission.

Mission Type: CARGO DELIVERY
This is the most difficult Cargo Delivery mission because there are Blackwatch
rocket launcher equipped soldiers on almost every rooftop. Just move fast and
stay mobile and you should make in good time.
Mission Type: SUPPRESSION
Collins contacts Heller and now it's time to kill him. Locate the tanks and
destroy them all. When Collins pops out try to consume him to find out he is an
Evolved. He takes off running so it's your job to chase him. When you finally
catch up to him he gets into a helicopter and tries to kill you. Take down the
chopper and then fight and consume Colling to finish the mission.

Mission Type: GENTEK SUPPORT
Travel to the waypoint and steal the helicopter. Now travel to the first hot
zone and clear out the Flyers. Then, land and pick up the first scientist.
Travel to the second hot zone, which is in a park, and take out the Flyers as
well as the Hydra on the ground.
BONUS!!! DESTROY THE HYDRA WITHOUT TAKING ANY DAMAGE
Just keep your finger on the Y button to destroy any incoming
projectiles that may hurt your helicopter. If you keep mobile you
should be able to do this bonus relatively easy.
Once it's all clear, land and pick up the second scientist. Travel to the last
hot zone, take out the Flyers and Hydra, then pick up the last scientist.
Now, ascend to maximum altitude and bail. Yup, sucks for them. Mission success.
Mission Type: INFECTED SALVAGE
This mission is basically killing a Goliath. Stun it, attack it by taking out
its leg, then its arm and its head, then complete the mission.
Mission Type: INFECTED SALVAGE
Tracking down the target for this mission reveals him to be Evolved.
BONUS!!! CONSUME FIVE OF THE INFECTED SPECIMENS
Nothing fancy here, just get all the specimens' health down to size
and then press B to consume them. The hard part is not getting their
health down all the way and accidentally killing them.
Kill everything. There are three Brawlers, three Juggernauts, some Evolved and
a bunch of normal Infected. Once they've all been eliminated, you have finished
this mission, along with all the Blacknet missions!
REWARD: OFFENSIVE
