Conditions of Arabia at the time of birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad

(PBUH)
Arabia was not very moral. They had their rules and regulations trashed. Only tribes would decide
how to actively engage in decision making. There was no government, no law, no punishment. There
would be fights and battles with a continuous lust for vengeance. Women had no rights and they were
treated as items. They had no other jobs so some women took up prostitution in order to earn money. A
son would inherit his father's wives and in most tribes it was tradition to bury an infant if it was a female.
There was gambling, drinking, and other activities that showed these people had no sense of morality.

Life In Makkah, Birth and Upbringing of The Prophet

The Prophet was born in 571 AD. His father had died before the birth of the Prophet in the city of
Yasrib. The Holy Prophet was taken away by his suckling mother Halima Saadia at an early age. He
returned to his mother when he was 6. Then he went to visit his fathers grave with his mother, but his
mother fell ill on the way back and died in Abwa. The Prophet was an orphan before birth and now had no
parent. The Prophet Muhammads grandfather took Hazrat Muhammad PBUH under his care for two
years before Hazrat Muhammads grandfather died. By the age of 8 his grandfather was deceased as
well. Then he stayed with his uncle Abu Talib.
Although the Prophet resented violence he took part in a war. He only collected arrows and
returned them to his uncles. The Prophet also later joined a council called Half-al-Fazul. The objective of
this council was to maintain peace and prevent unwanted loss of life.

Marriage
Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) was known as an honest man and people often gave him their items for care.
Hazrat Khadija needed someone to go to Syria with her merchandise. She sent him for his good qualities
and he brought good profits. She sent a marriage proposal and Abu Talib accepted it for him. They had 6
children, but only the youngest daughter (Fatimah) survived. Hazrat Khadija died at the age of 65 in AD
621. She was buried in Makkah.

Call of Prophethood
When the Prophet became aware of the corrupt society and pagans he began to retire to a cave. He did
not have a method of worship but he could feel the existence of a supreme being. As he approached the
age of 40 he began to retire to the cave more and more. One day the Angel Hazrat Jibrael came to the
Prophet and asked him to read, the Prophet replied with and said that he could not. Then the Angel
hugged him tightly, suffocating the Prophet. This continued once more and then the Prophet asked what
he shall read. The Angel told him that he was a messenger of Allah. Then the Prophet went to his wife,
who directed him to her cousin, a Christian Scholar, Warqa bin Naufal. Warqa confirmed that this was the
Angel that approached previous prophets for prophethood.

The Black Stone - Hajr al-Aswad

There came a time when the Hajr al-Aswad was to be placed in the Ka'bah but there was a debate over
who would do it. Hazrat Muhammad PBUH resolved this issue by using his amazing skills. He placed the
black stone on a square cloth. He asked the leaders to hold the corners and lift it up to a certain height.
After that the Prophet helped it be placed in the Ka'bah and the issue was resolved quickly.
