Part II: Reflection

CANDIDATE REFLECTIONS:
(Minimum of 3-4 sentences per question)

1. Briefly describe the field experience. What did you learn about technology facilitation and
leadership from completing this field experience?
I learned a lot while completing this project. The project provided me hands on experience with
designing an educational experience for my students. I was introduced to technical tools that Ive
never used before such as Voki, which I included in my project. I also was introduced to various
tools that I did not include on this particular WebQuests but I plan to use for future WebQuests
projects, such as PowToon. In regards to leadership, I learned that it is very important to have
experience creating/designing your own instructional tools from scratch. The more knowledgeable
I am about designing the more open I will be to learning new skills in the future

2. How did this learning relate to the knowledge (what must you know), skills (what must you
be able to do) and dispositions (attitudes, beliefs, enthusiasm) required of a technology
facilitator or technology leader? (Refer to the standards you selected in Part I. Use the
language of the PSC standards in your answer and reflect on all 3knowledge, skills, and
dispositions.)
This field experience was all about designing my own instructional experience in the form of a
WebQuests. I had to become knowledgeable about what a WebQuests is and how to create its basic
components. I also had to become knowledgeable about what makes a WebQuests more
meaningful for students. Designing a WebQuests takes a lot of time and incorporates a lot of skills.
Many of the skills I used to create the WebQuests were skills I learned along the way. Including
various forms of multi-media such as embedded videos and embedded Voki audio were skills that
I had to teach myself while creating the WebQuests. Because of these new acquired skills, I am
confident that my next WebQuests creation will go a lot smoother. I am taking away a positive
attitude toward designing my own instructional material. I now know that I have the patience and
perseverance to create such a project that will support and enhance my students higher order
thinking skills.

3. Describe how this field experience impacted school improvement, faculty development or
student learning at your school. How can the impact be assessed?
This experience has positively impacted my school environment because I am able to take new
acquired skills and understanding back to my colleagues. Now that I am comfortable with creating
my own multi-media projects in the future, I am able to share my projects with other teachers and
we can work cooperatively with one another in the future to create additional projects.
