- This website contained info primarily on Atahualpa, and was one of the first sources we
looked at. It allowed us to understand how Atahualpa allowed the empire to fall due to his
misjudgement.

-Important information about the Siege of Tenochtitlan was given on this website. This

siege was a key part in the rebellion of the Aztecs and this source gave a simple run through of
the events that took place.

-This source gave us the basic information on the Aztecs, such as where they came from
and how large their empire was. It was one of the first sources we looked at when researching
this subject, and its simplicity kept us from getting confused.

-This source provide us with important info on Hernan Cortes, the man who conquered
the Aztec empire. Although the Aztecs would have revolted either way, his misjudgement almost
lost him the chance of conquering them. By appointing the wrong person to watch over the
Aztecs in his absence, he returned to find the city in rebellion, which was great information for
us.

-Much of the background history of the Incas is included on this website. Important
things such as the war between Atahualpa and his brother Huascar were included, as well as the
fact that the Inca had never had interactions with the Spanish. Knowing these two things made us

realize that these were two key factors that led to Inca revolt.

-This source was really useful, as it contained excerpts from Miguel


Leon-Portillas(Mexican anthropologist) book titled The Broken Spears: The Aztec Account of
the Conquest of Mexico. In this book, Leon-Portilla wrote down events that happened during
Spanish and Aztec interactions based off of Spanish and Aztec accounts. One of the events
covered is that of the massacre during the festival, a key moment leading to Aztec revolt.

- This website gave us some insight on Montezumas life and how this played into him
and his people getting conquered. Knowing about him was important, as he was the one who let
the Spanish into the city, and didnt realize it was a mistake to do so until he was dead. His death
was one of the events that set off a rebellion against Cortes and his men.

- This website was very helpful, as it gave a basic rundown on the events leading up to
the end of the Inca empire, as well as how this led up to Manco Inca trying to take a stand against
the Spanish. Important information such as the capture of Atahualpa and how Manco Inca was
used a puppet emperor provided us with necessary info to piece with what we learned from other
sources.

-This website allowed us to understand the main reason why the Aztecs revolted. At

first, we thought it was mainly because they didnt want to be ruled by the Spanish, which was
partially true. What we didnt realize until reading it was that the Aztecs forced the Spanish out
of their city because Aztec nobles were being massacred for no reason by Cortess men.

-This website gave us the clearest explanation on how Manco Inca tried to fight the
Spanish and reclaim the Incan homeland. Other websites gave little info on how he tried to resist
against the Spanish, saying that the death of Atahualpa marked the end of the Inca empire. From
what we learned, he was the only one who tried to take a stand against the Spanish during his
lifetime, which helped support the theme of taking a stand.

-This source gave us the most important moments leading up to the Aztec Empires fall.
Although not what we were looking for, it did include events where the Aztecs fought back
against the Aztecs and why. This helped us validate similar information from other sources we
used.
