Abstract
GreaterBamboofieldislocatedinblock2AMugladBasinconsistoffourstructures,bamboowest,main,eastandsouthandcoversanareaofabout144km.Itinvolvesof,multilayeredundersaturated
sandstonereservoiroflatecretaceousagesburiedatdepthrangingfrom1000mto1500mwithcrudeoilviscosityrangesfrom200cpto3000cp.ThetotalFieldSTOIIPandRFiscurrentlyestimatedat
around509MMSTB,16%respectively,todatethefieldhadrecoveredmorethan69%oftheEUR.
Thefieldinitiallyproducedaround20,000STB/Dwithearlywaterbreakthroughandveryminimalgasproductionrateuntiltoday.
However,theproductionratedeclinerapidlywhenthewaterproductionrateincreased.Majorfactorsthatcontributedtothisproblemarepossiblyduetothefingeringandwaterconning.Currentlythefield
isproducingaround9000STB/Dwithwatercutaround75%andkeepsincreasing.
SincethedecliningproductiontakeplaceforthatourstrategytogoforimplementationofEnhanceOilRecovery(EOR)process.AftermorestudyweconcludetousethermalEORinBamboofield
reservoirs,Feasibilitystudiesshowsthatsteaminjectionispotentiallythemostpracticalandviableoption.
Inthispaperfeasibilitystudyfromscreening,designoptimizationaswellasimplementationofcyclicsteamstimulation(CSS)inBBW42asfirstwellofthisprojectwillbepresentedinadditiontovarious
challengesandrecommendations.
TheResultshowsthatthethermalEORprojectsforbamboowestoilfieldareverysuccessfulandalmostrewarddoubleproductionfrom280bbl/dayto500bbl/dayinBambooOilField.
