Ling Lei Lisic, an Associate Professor in Accounting major of School of
Business, has been teaching class at George Mason for 8 years. She achieved her
bachelor's degree of accounting from Shanghai Jiao Tong University in China in
1998. Then, she got her master of philosophy from Hong Kong University of Science
and Technology in accounting in 2000, another masters degree from University of
Rochester in applied economics in 2003 and a Ph.D. from University of Connecticut
in accounting in 2008.
Ling Lei Lisic as an academic researcher, focuses her research interests in
archival financial accounting (e.g., corporate governance, corporate social
responsibility, insider trading, executive compensation, SEC comment letters,
disclosure, international accounting) and archival auditing. According to her journal
lists defined by School of Business, there are 3 different qualities of journals from
high to low including premier journals, superior journals, and acceptable journals. She
also published practitioner publications and working papers. Lisic, Ling majorly
published her articles in five journals of premiers including The Accounting Review,
Contemporary Accounting Review, Journal of Financial Economics, Journal of
Accounting and Economics and Production and operations Management. In superior

journals, she published in Journal of Business Research, Journal of Accounting,

Auditing and Financial, Journal of Accounting and Public Policy and Accounting
Horizons. She also published article in International Journal of Auditing which is an
acceptable journal.
As I mentioned above, Ling focuses her study in archival financial accounting.
There are 10 articles related to auditing, which include five published in superior
journals, one published in acceptable journal and one working paper. It means Ling
spent so much effort on this topic and some of them have a high quality because they
are superior journals.
Whats more, Ling is also interested in research on the relation between the
committee of a company and the investment environment. There are about four papers
talking about this topic.
Ling Lei Lisic services in many academic communities. For the American
Accounting Association, she is the Chair of Auditing Section Research Committee
during 2017-2018. She is the editorial board of Auditing: A Journal of Practice and
Theory during 2016-2017. Also, she is the Chair of Tenured Faculty Committee of
George Mason University during 2016-2018 and the Chair of School of Business
Graduate Policy Committee of George Mason University during 2015-2016. All these
services mean Ling has become a high reputation person on her job and her life.
