3.0 Site Survey Procedures

3.1 Calibration
The map calibration in a survey tool helps to define the correct distance between two points on the map.
For example, draw a line across a 12-meters wall on the map and specify that the distance of the line
represents 12 meters. The rest of the map can be rescaled based on this defined distance.

3.2 Verify The Map Calibration

Measure the distance between two points on the map and verify the accuracy. The 'measure tool' in
AirMagnet can be used to measure the distance between the desired points on the map.

3.3 Signal Propagation

The 'Signal Propagation Assessment' allows the site survey application to predict signal propagation
between data points. The 'Signal Propagation Assessment' value can be changed to a different value after a
survey has been completed without the need to perform the survey again. The default value that will be
used is 3 meters, and this value may be modified based on the survey results.

3.4 Channel Scanning & SSID

The channels and SSIDs that are in use by the wireless infrastructure will be scanned only. The sampling
will be taken automatically every 1 second using the Airmagnets Auto sampling through path feature.

3.5 Survey Path

The survey path should follow a valid walking path and should not have paths that go through walls. The
survey path should also have a walking path that shows data points collected inside rooms and offices
where there is desired coverage. The surveyor should maintain a steady pace slower than a normal walk in
order to gather as much data as possible.

3.6 Signal Coverage & SNR

In this survey the RF application needs are Voice and Data. Accordingly, The -67 dBm will be considered
as a minimum accepted wireless signal strength (with at least 15-20 percent overlap) and the minimum
accepted SNR is 25 dB. If needed, a single AP heat map printouts will be available onsite to validate the
cell coverage between the heat map and survey.

3.7 Performing Survey for Each Bands

All previous steps will be performed for each band (i.e. 2.4 GHz and 5.0 Ghz) individually.

3.8 Site Survey for Large Facilities

When performing a survey that may take a long time (i.e., longer than 10-15 minutes, the survey will be
divided into several smaller instances. This ensures that not to lose all the survey data should a problem
arises with the computer. After the multiple surveys have been completed, the resulting data files can be
merged together to create the same result as surveying the entire area at once. This can be done from
AirMagnets Display View Data Merge

4.0 Conformance Criteria

4.1 Pre-Conformance Criteria

Approved Shop drawings.

MIR / MDR.

4.2 Post-Conformance Criteria

Once the survey is completed the actual survey data files along with the survey report will be provided as a soft
copy. Accordingly, the review will be based on the soft copy.

4.2.1 Survey Data

The survey data are generated by AirMagnet which include the passive survey data (with .SVD extension)
and the corresponding survey path (with .PATH extension). The Passive survey data contains all survey
data files, each file representing an individual survey. They contain data such as SSIDs, APs, signal
strength, noise level, signal/noise ratio, etc. captured during the survey. For large facilities, it is common to
have multiple data files for each part then it can be merged using Data Merge feature provided by
AirMagnet (See Section 3.9).

4.2.2 Report Results

The report is provided as a soft copy and it includes:
A) AirMagnet Heat map results that displays RF coverage (for each band).
B) AirMagnet Heat map results that display SNR (for each band).
C) AirMagnet Walking path results (for each band).

5.0 Plant and Equipment

The following equipments and utilities will be used for the completion of a site survey:

5.1 Wireless Access Point

The quantity and type of access point will be chosen based on the location and size of the surveyed
location. The available types are: Cisco 2600 Access point (AIR-SAP2602I-E-K9), Cisco 2600 Access
point (AIR-SAP2602E-E-K9) and 2.4 GHz 2dBi and 5.0 GHz 4dBi Dipole Antenna (AIR-ANT2524DWR). The quantity of access point varies from one to three access points based on the size of the surveyed
location.

The access point transmission power will be configured as recommended by Cisco for voice deployment
and within the allowed regulations as follows:
