I would like to buy a book for $2.25, what coins and dollars
do I need to make that amount? Then the students will be
able to move about the classroom and add up their signs to
equal $2.25. Then students will with their group of six to
come up with their own song about pennies, nickels, dimes
and quarters. Once, they come up with their song they will
preform for the class. I will show students this YouTube video
to get them thinking about how to make up a song about
money. They must come up with a song demonstrating they

Reflection/ Materials used:

I enjoyed working on my curriculum Map project. It really made
me think how I would incorporate the arts into my every day lessons.
Art education in schools has very powerful effects on students
achievements; it has great affects on helping students who may be
struggling. You can also infuse culture into your lessons with a tough of
art. It allows students to express what they are thinking in creative

ways. Students love being able to move around during the day and I
think having activities like these for them to do helps them to learn
better than just sitting at their seats the entire day. It took me a little
bit of time to try and think of activities for each subject and getting
them to match both the subject and art standard was tricky for me.
After re-searching and thinking about it I was able to come up with
some ideas of how I would incorporate the art into my lessons.
Materials used for these projects wouldnt be very hard to get. For my
math project I would make the coins and dollars out of poster board
and laminate them for the students to use. For science I would get the
soil, and seeds for the students to plant their plans. I would ask for
each student to bring in an empty water or soda bottle to decorate and
plant in. for ELA I would print out those two pictures and laminate them
for the students to look at and then they would do the write ups in
their notebooks. For Social Studies, I may have to buy the play for
fewer than ten dollars, but working with the students and teaching
them the play would be priceless. Overall, these are inexpensive great
ways to get the students excited about leaning in different ways. I
dont have many apprehension about doing these projects, maybe just
time, but these projects dont have to be done in one class period. I
could stretch them out into two or three class periods, the play may
take a month or more to complete, but it would be worth it in my
opinion.
