The first lesson we had was about the kingdom of God.

This was discussed through the

use of Parables since symbolisms were used to show what the kingdom of God is. An
example would be the parable of the Sower where there were 3 different elements
used, the soil, seed and sower. From this, on can learn that the kingdom of God is
within us and whenever we repent, the kingdom of God is there.
Another lesson that was tackled in class was Vocation. Vocation us a special grace
given to an individual upon; it is where a persons life finds meaning and solution. This is
due to our body was given to us to fulfill a certain mission. This is because God has a
plan for each one of us, Call of god is the same and He does not care how we do it
(path to holiness) and One needs to be open and pay attention, listen and try to
respond to his call. In the bible, God had a pattern on how he called out a certain
person. It usually started with a Theophany or introduction after which, there is a giving
of message, objection of the mission by the person being called, Gods response to the
objection and the Acceptance of Gods mission.
Another lesson which was tackled was preparations for matrimony which includes
friendship, preparation for family life, dating and courtship and preparations for married
life. An important concept discussed is friendship; this is the foundation of couples to
have a good relationship. Another is Trust and Love, similar to friendship; this is needed
by couples to have a long and lasting relationship. One thing also discussed was the
different of dating and courtship where dating has no intention for marriage while
courtship has an intention. The book Amoris laetitia written by Pope Francis was also
used in the discussion where the issues of a modern family were discussed. An
important reminder from this topic is that marriage is something very sacred and it is
something not being done instantly. The partner needs to learn how to compromise and
fulfill his or her commitment.
