Introduction:
This course is belong to the laboratory of mechanics of materials and in this laboratory time we are
going to test a plate and method of finding the poison ratio of the plate also we are going to find the
modulus of rigidity by our experience that saw in laboratory.
Background (Theory):
We will use from some theories and formulas that learned from the book for finding the poison ratio
and modulus of rigidity.
our plate. And as we saw there was about 1.8mm change in the length of plate about
0.15mm change in the width of plate, we can use this information for finding the poison ratio
of the plate and by using the stress on the plate, modulus of elasticity and the poison ratio to
find
the
elasticity.

In over all my all progress I understand more important things in testing materials as well in testing
plate, such that determining the poison ratio, modulus of rigidity, modulus of elasticity, stress on the
plate.
In this laboratory I learned that every where that is large stress the possibility of breaking is the most
also I knew that our plate broke due to maximum shear force and some thing about the actual and
average stress. In our investigation we also understand some thing about modulus of elasticity that it
is because of the stress that we are exerting and the deformation of length in steel.
