Super Samys Model Composition

Introduction
The roads on either side were clear. Joseph
looked at the pedestrian crossing at the traffic
junction i the distance and sighed (1). Must I
walk? Or should I... He stopped in his tracks,
shifting the weight of his heavy school bag on
his aching back(2).

Body 1
Joseph had just completed his Track and Field
training in the scorching heat(3). His face was
flushed and he was soaked in perspiration(4).
He could not wait to get home for a refreshing
shower. Nevertheless, he decided against
jaywalking and headed towards the pedestrian
crossing.

Body 2
As Joseph neared the pedestrian crossing, there
was a sudden boom(5) from the opposite side of
the road. Startled by the noise, Joseph spun
around(6), just in time to witness (7) a sports
car racing forward to round the kerb in a
reckless bid(8) to execute an illegal U-Turn! To
his horror, there was a deafening screech(9)
as the driver lost control of the Ferrari F50. He
could only watch in horror helplessly as the
canary yellow car skidded on its two left wheels
before turning turtle right in front of him!

Body 3
Joseph looked around frantically no one was in
the vicinity! He approached the car cautiously.
Oh no... Oh no... Oh no... he found himself
muttering. An involuntary gasp escaped
him (10) at the horrendous sight of the
motionless female driver whose face was
covered with blood.

(1) This shows how tired Joseph is and feels.

afternoon that Joseph had to bear.

(5) It describes the abruptness and loudness

of the car engine.
(6) It describes the sudden movement when
Joseph turned to look.
(7) Rather than look, witness means to
see the whole accident with ones own eyes.

picture of the entire movement of the car.
(9) It describes the loudness and the sharp
pitch of the sound.

And guess what they have planned for you? Not much. ~ Jim Rohn 1

Body 4
Not knowing what else he could do, Joseph
fumbled for his mobile phone with
trembling hands(11). Then, he steeled
himself to calm down (12) as he punched the
numbers 995 for the SCDF ambulance
service . He was oblivious to the fact that a few
passers-by had gathered around by then.
No! Dont move him, a deep voice jolted
Joseph back to reality (13). He looked up. A
kind lady gently led him away. Hello! Can you
hear me? Hello! Wake up, please! Hello? the
man tried to get a response from the driver.
The lady also quickly scanned the area for any
leaking petrol from the car. When she was
reassured that there was none, she talked
gently to Joseph.
Young man.. that was indeed a brave act of
yours to approach and help the motorist. Are
you alright? the elegant lady asked with
concern.

(11) It describes how nervous Joseph was,

giving a clear picture of how he had trouble
taking out his mobile phone.

himself to calm down.

was woken up from his daze.

mental state.

nervous.
(16) It emphasises how important time was
for the severely injured motorist.
(17) This depicts the (fast) speed in which
the casualty was sent to the hospital.

Yes... yes. I guess so, Joseph answered, his

mind still a blank(14). The small crowd could
only wait anxiously for medical help to arrive.
Everyone was on tenterhooks (15) as
precious seconds ticked by (16). It was not
long before the injured driver was whisked of
(17) to the hospital once the paramedics arrived
at the scene, gave her immediate first aid and
Josephs statement was taken by the police
officers from nearby Neighbourhood Police Post
who had rushed over upon hearing the
commotion.

Conclusion
By then, Joseph had forgotten his
exhaustion and discomfort. Instead, his
heart was filled with thankfulness. In
retrospect, that moment of hesitation had

(18) This is a different conclusion to the

typical ending. Moreover, it links the
dilemma Joseph faced in the introduction to
how the whole incident unfolded.

saved his life(18)! He resolved to be even

more alert and vigilant when on public roads
and pedestrian walkways.
