ADMISSION PROCEDURE 2017


(FOR ADMISSION THROUGH MERIT BASED ON ACTUAL MARKS IN JEE (MAIN) 2017)

4 Years B Tech Programs: Civil Engineering (Civ), Computer Science Engineering (CSE),
Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE), Engineering Physics (EP) and Mechanical
Engineering (Mech).

IMPORTANT:

FIVE STEP PROCESS


Step-1. Apply online or fill hard copy of application-down loaded or purchased from office/sale point.
Step-2. Provide actual marks obtained in Paper-1 of JEE (Main) 2017, once the results are announced
(April 2017) at the on-line link provided on the web site or provide hard copy of the score card to
the University before last date of application.
Step-3. Announcement of merit list based on actual marks in paper -1 of JEE (Main) 2017.
Step-4. Counseling (if name shortlisted) shall be held on-line/conducted at specified venue(s) around mid-
June 2017. Monitor and view the University website, for more details, without fail.
Step-5. Registration and commencement of classes by Mid-July, 2017 (Tentative).

The University has been established under Uttar Pradesh Act number 24 of 2016. The same has been gazette
notified by the Government of Uttar Pradesh Vide No 1042/79-V-1-16-1(Ka) 25-2016 Dated 16 Sep, 2016.
Bennett University is located in Greater Noida, less than an hours drive from South Delhi. When fully
operational, the expansive 68-acre campus will accommodate over 13,000 students. Designed by the
renowned Singapore-based RSP Architects, Bennett Universitys sprawling campus is visualized as a modern,
user-centric, functional space, enabling an immersive and comprehensive learning experience.

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS:
Please carefully note the following, before filling the application form / applying online:
(a)

Merely filling an application form does not entitle the candidate for the admission or ensure call for
counseling. The admission and counseling call is purely merit based. No refund of application fee is
entitled, in case candidate is not called for counseling for failing to qualify in the merit list.

(b)

Non submission of application form or JEE score and 10+2 marks, to the University, before due date
shall debar a candidate from being considered for merit/counseling.

(c)

The University does not admit students based on central counseling by CBSE. It shall conduct its own
counseling, as per its own merit drawn amongst received applications.

(d)

Candidates must appear in Paper 1 of JEE-(Main) 2017 conducted by the CBSE and fulfill the other
eligibility criteria as laid down in succeeding paragraphs.

@ Admission to Biotechnology program shall be taken based on Merit of percentage of marks in 10+2 Examination.
Candidates are required to fill a separate application form for being considered for admission to Biotechnology Program.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
1.

Criteria of Number of subjects in 10+2 Exams


Min 5 Subjects in 10+2 or its equivalent examination (equivalence as defined by JEE Board). Candidates
with 4 subjects in 10+2 class are not eligible.

2.

Criteria of Subjects and Marks in 10+2 Exams


The candidate must obtain minimum of 60% aggregate marks in three subjects to include Physics, and
Mathematics (Compulsory) and one subject amongst Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Computer
Science, Informatics Practices and Multimedia & Web Technology. The marks shall be verified at the time
of document inspection.

Criteria of minimum Educational Qualification


The minimum academic qualification for admission to any one of the programs is as laid down by JEE
(Board). The 10+2 or its equivalent Examination must be passed in 2015, 2016 or 2017. All candidates
offered provisional admission during counseling will be required to produce proof, to the University
authorities during document inspection at the time of registration. If the results of 10+2 examinations are
likely to be declared after 15, July, 2017 the candidates are advised to seek admission next year. No
representations for extension of dates shall be entertained.

Criteria for Date of Birth


Candidates whose date of birth falls on or after 01,October, 1996 (Date of Birth as recorded in the High
School/Secondary Education Board/University Certificate only will be taken as authentic) are only eligible
to apply for admission.

5.

General Instructions on conditions of Eligibility


(a)
Candidates must produce certificate of proof of the above conditions at the time of counseling
failing which, they will be disqualified.
(b) If an applicant is found ineligible even at a later date after admission in the University, his/her
admission will stand cancelled. All admissions will be subject to verification of facts from the
original certificates/ documents of the candidates. The decision of the Admission Committee of the
University regarding the eligibility of any applicant shall be final.

PROCESS FOR ADMISSION:

The admission process shall involve the following:


(a) Registration of candidature by filling online application or sending the hard copy of downloaded/
purchased application form. The candidate may fill the application form without waiting for the
results of JEE (Main) 2017. It is essential for the candidate to provide the marks of JEE (Main) 2017
and 10+2 examination to the University immediately, after declaration of results of Paper -1 of
JEE (MAIN) 2017, in April 2017. The marks of JEE (Main) 2017 as well as 10+2, may be filled online
or candidate may provide score cards to the admission office before last date of application
process. Further, the candidate has to produce the mark sheet of 10+2 exam results at the time of
document verification during registration process.
(b) The University merit lists shall be announced based on the actual marks obtained by the candidate
in Paper -1 of JEE (Main) 2017.
(c) The counseling may be held on line or at a specified venue, the schedule and details of which shall
be announced in due course (Tentatively 23 June 2017).
(d) Subsequent rounds of counseling, if required, shall be announced later.


APPLICATION PROCESS
7.

How to Obtain and Fill the Application Form


The students may obtain and fill the application forms in any of the following ways.
(a)

Obtain application form and brochure from the University office by cash payment of Rs 1000/-or
sending a bank draft of Rs. 1000/- favoring Bennett University, payable at Noida/Greater Noida. The
form may also be downloaded from the University web site.

(b) Obtain application form and brochure from selected sale points, as per the details which shall be
loaded on the web site of the University.

Apply on line using net banking/credit/debit card / opting to make payment through bank draft on
web site www.getadmissions.com/bennett which can also be accessed through University web site.

Cost of Form: Rs 1000/-

9.

Where to send. The completed Application Form, whether purchased or print out of the on line
application must be sent to the following address:

10. Apply Online (Using net banking/Credit/Debit Card/Bank Draft option). After filling the online
application the candidate must take a print out of same and post it to the address given above.
(a)

Log on to www.bennettuniversity.com and click on Admission >> JEE Based Admissions or directly
log on to http://www.getadmissions.com/bennett (authorized agency for online application).

(b)

Thereafter, the candidate will be prompted to fill up the application and make the payment
through credit/debit card/net banking/fill the details of the Bank Draft.

(c)

On successful completion of application form and on line payment, the candidate shall be allotted a
Unique Application ID number, which must be saved for future reference. The candidate shall also
get confirmation of same through an E Mail.

(d)

There is an option of uploading the photograph online itself.

(e)

Do not send the application without Unique ID number, which would have been generated
automatically after making the payment.

(f)

Send one print out of the on line application to the address given above. In case the candidate is
not able to upload the photograph, then he/she should affix recent colored passport size
photograph on the print out, before sending it to admission section. Write ONLINE APPLICATION-
B.TECH on the envelope, before posting. In case application has been filled using the bank draft
option, do not forget to send the Bank Draft also along with the print out.

(g)

The candidate should make a photocopy and retain it for records.

11. Apply through hard copy of application: Downloaded from web site/Purchased from office or selected
sale points
(a) Fill the application form and affix a recent colored photograph at appropriate place.
(b) Those who have downloaded the form from web site must attach a demand draft of Rs. 1000/-
favoring Bennett University, payable at Noida/Greater Noida. Those who purchase the application
form need not attach the bank draft.
(c) Post the application on the above mentioned address.
12. Important to note before submission of Application Form.
(a)

Candidates who procure the brochure and application form after payment of Rs 1000/-, are not
required to make any further payment, while submitting the application form.

(b)

Last date of application - 05 May, 2017

(c)

Applications received after the last date will not be accepted and candidate shall have no claim for
the Merit List.

(d)

Display of Application Status: The information about receipt of the Application Forms in the
University shall be done in a phased manner on the web site. Therefore, the candidates are
required to view the same, frequently, for the latest information and also required to take the
necessary action as per the information hosted on the website from time to time.

(e)

Non receipt of application is responsibility of the candidate.

(f)

Candidates are also advised to keep the original receipt of the Speed Post / Registered Post issued
by the post office and the photocopy of the filled in Application Form. In any case, all issues
regarding non receipt of application form must be resolved before declaration of merit. No appeals
thereafter are acceptable.


MERIT LIST, COUNSELING AND ADMISSION OFFERS/ALLOCATION OF SEATS
13. Eligibility for Merit - Candidates shall be considered for meriting process, only after they meet all of the
following criteria:
(a) Those, who apply in the prescribed application form / apply online.
(b) Those, whose applications are found valid.
(c) The applications are received before the due date.
(d) Those, who fulfill the eligibility criteria.
14. Drawing the Merit Lists
(a) The merit amongst applications received shall be drawn based on the actual marks scored by the
candidate in Paper -1 of JEE (Main) 2017 examination.
(b) JEE marks in any category or state etc. shall not be taken into account.
(c) The merit list for SC/ST candidates and those belonging to the state of J&K shall be made by
applying the cut off 10% below the total marks [in JEE (Main) 2017 examination] obtained by the
candidate short listed in the general category.
15. Display of Merit
(a) Merit list shall be loaded on the websites for all candidates whose applications are found valid The
selected candidates shall also be sent an email.
(b) It is responsibility of the candidate to check the web site for merit lists, as per dates given below to
know about their counseling /fee payment schedule and guidelines and instructions etc.
(c) Ignorance of counseling schedule shall not be accepted as an excuse to attend or claim for
counseling at a later date, other than specified and scheduled.
16. Information about counseling and fee payment: The shortlisted candidates shall be informed about
counseling modalities through following ways:
(a) Details for on line counseling/ date(s) and venue(s) if so required shall be uploaded on the website.
(b) A communication in the form of an email shall be sent to all shortlisted candidates only. Thus, all
candidates must mention their E Mails correctly, while filling the application form. (Candidates are
advised to check their SPAM boxes also).

(c) Candidates whose names appear on the merit lists displayed on the website, but who do not
receive the written communication/e mail for counseling, must also undertake actions as per
instructions which shall be loaded on the web site.

18. Counseling/Seat Allocation


(a) Merited Candidates as per choices of programs exercised in the application form only shall be
allowed to participate in the on line counseling/ called for same to a specified venue. They must go
through instructions carefully regarding fee payment or reporting at place and timings of
counseling. Ignorance of laid down instructions shall be responsibility of the candidate.
(b) Candidates are allowed to prioritize choices amongst the programs in the application form. A
candidate who initially does not get the choice program, shall have an option of being up graded as
per the merit and priority exercised. The candidate shall also have the option of freezing the
choices, if so desired, before next upgradation, as per the schedule to be announced with the
counseling instructions.
(c) Allocation of Seats: Seats in the programs shall be allotted on the basis of preferences indicated in
the application form strictly in order of merit.

@ Hostel accommodation will be provided to all students. Given the rigor of the programs including class room work, it
is essential that all students avail of the hostel facilities.

The fee structure may be revised by the management from time to time.


Ragging is banned in the University. Any student indulging in ragging shall be liable for disciplinary action;
including expulsion from the University. The University complies with the policy of the Government
regarding reservation of SC/ST candidates as applicable for private un- aided Universities. Two seats under
supernumerary quota are reserved for the eligible students from J&K.
